Position Overview:
The Facilities, Maintenance, and Safety Technician oversees and performs or coordinates the maintenance, functional operation, safety, security and cleanliness of the organization’s facilities (buildings, ground, and vehicles) at all property locations. This position is responsible for ensuring a safe, secure and clean physical environment for employees, clients, vendors, and company visitors
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and perform or coordinate the maintenance of the interior and exterior facilities, furnishings, carpentry, painting, general repairs, electrical and plumbing systems and janitorial needs. This position will not perform any maintenance functions that a licensed professional is required to do by law (electrical, plumbing, etc.).
- Responsible for informing the Supervisor when a licensed professional is needed for facilities maintenance work and to coordinate and oversee the work of those contractors as necessary.
- Design effective safety programs, safety plans, job hazard analysis.
- Monitor safety compliance and report safety issues and progress to the Safety Committee and program directors/managers as needed.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend solutions and ways to prevent them from reoccurring.
- Respond to safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately and take appropriate action.
- Maintain a log documenting safety inspections activities, reports and correspondence.
- Obtain prior approval for expenditures/purchases over $100.
- Receive and process work orders.
- Respond to special requests for custodial and maintenance services.
- Conduct regular safety inspections (daily, monthly, etc.) including buildings, grounds, vehicles, equipment, fire extinguishers and alarms. Complete reports and maintain documentation of inspections and incidents.
- Track and order (or coordinate purchasing) of custodial supplies for buildings as needed.
- Oversee and coordinates the janitorial needs for Outpatient facilities.
- Ensure spills are cleaned (including bodily fluids) in safe and appropriate manner.
- Ensure walkways, parking areas, grounds, and entrances are clear and clean (including snow removal).
- Ensure indoor and outdoor lighting is maintained and fully operational.
- Ensure gutters and roofs are clean and clear.
- Inspect wiring.
- Ensure security systems, including cameras, door and window locks are fully operational 100% of the time.
- Clean areas as assigned in the Prineville Residential facility (i.e. rooms, halls, offices, restrooms, cafeteria, etc.), pick up trash on grounds, empty wastes containers, vacuum, shampoo, sweep, scrub, wax, polish, mop and buff all types of floor surfaces as required.
- Wash windows, whiteboards, walls, doors and baseboards. (Residential)
- Clean furniture, windows, metal work and computer screens. (Residential)
- Wash, scrub and disinfect restrooms as well as clean sinks, fixtures, panels and drinking fountains. (Residential)
- Assist in setup of activities and events as assigned.
- Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
- Maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Serve on safety committee and lead as Chairperson.
- Attend staff meetings as requested.
- Oversee all subcontractors and contractors and facilities and grounds project management.
- Ensure proper maintenance of company vehicles at all locations

Compensation $28-33/hr(depending on experience and skills)
Travel Requirements: Travel to all facilities as needed
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough working knowledge of custodial and maintenance methods and materials and the use of custodial equipment equivalent to that gained in two years of experience. Previous experience working in construction, custodial, and maintenance positions preferred.
Understanding of OSHA guidelines and safety policies
PHYSICAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Typical Working Conditions: This position works primarily in both indoor and outdoor environments (all weather) and is physical in nature. The employee must regularly lift/carry, push/pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds.
Frequent twisting/turning/reaching/climbing/crawling/kneeling/squatting/sitting/walking/standing/bending.
Exposures encountered (if any): Outdoor fluctuations in temperatures, chemicals, sharps.
Equipment Used: Basic hand tools, computer, copier/printer, agency vehicles, dolly.
