About the Role

Description

Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is a statewide service provider specializing in skilled trade services for the commercial and retail industry. We are seeking a Lighting Technician to perform interior and exterior commercial lighting repairs, maintenance, and upgrades.


The ideal candidate will have at least three years of recent experience as a Lighting Technician or in commercial electrical work and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. Technicians are provided with a company vehicle and gas card, with the flexibility to begin their service routes from home or a regional shop location.


Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Occasional weekends and overtime available

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics on commercial electrical and lighting components
  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, and repair egress and emergency lighting systems
  • Remove and replace lighting tubes, bulbs, LEDs, and other components within a variety of interior and exterior lighting fixtures
  • Work with Title 24 lighting systems
  • Experience with refrigeration controls or Ansul systems is desired but not required
  • Provide professional and informative customer service regarding the nature and status of lighting repairs
  • Operate company vehicles in accordance with company and department guidelines
  • Independently work from blueprints, sketches, and schematic drawings
  • Complete and submit service paperwork and reports in accordance with department standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations

Requirements

  • Three or more years of recent commercial experience as an Electrician, Lighting Technician, or Maintenance Technician
  • Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and motor vehicle record (MVR) check
  • Available to work overtime on occasion which includes a weekend shift
  • Proficient English communication skills with the ability to complete written reports and emails
  • Proficient in the use of a cell phone for written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work in accordance with company safety guidelines, Cal/OSHA requirements, and workplace policies
