About the Role

Aspen Medical is seeking a part- time Payroll Officer to join our Finance team at the Canberra Head Office. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the timely and accurate processing of payroll for employees and contractors, while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and supporting Aspen Medical’s commitment to ethical practices and B Corp principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with fortnightly payroll processing, including data entry, leave applications, and maintaining employee payroll records.
  • Processing and reconcile payday superannuation contributions.
  • Support year-end reconciliations processes and preparation of reports.
  • Work closely with Culture and Performance team to ensure payroll actions align with contracts, awards, and enterprise agreements.
  • Assist in maintaining payroll systems and reports, while supporting process improvements.
  • Build positive relationships with employees, contractors, and stakeholders, and support audits to ensure compliance.
  • Basic Payroll knowledge and a willingness to further develop payroll expertise.
  • Ability to interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, and contracts.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, accuracy with figures, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Desirable: experience in the health industry and/or using Access Micropay.

About You

  • Basic Payroll knowledge and a willingness to further develop payroll expertise.
  • Ability to interpret and apply awards, enterprise agreements, and contracts.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, accuracy with figures, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Desirable: experience in the health industry and/or using Access Micropay.
