REPORTS TO: Spa & Fitness Director and Spa Manager


POSITION SUMMARY

The Licensed Manicurist provides exceptional nail care and salon services designed to enhance each Member's appearance, comfort, and overall well-being while delivering an unparalleled luxury spa experience. This position performs professional manicures, pedicures, nail treatments, and other licensed nail care services based on each Member's individual preferences and wellness needs while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, sanitation, safety, and personalized care.

The Licensed Manicurist serves as a beauty and wellness ambassador for Hideaway Golf Club by creating a welcoming and relaxing salon environment, building trusted Member relationships, and delivering exceptional nail care services that reflect the Club's commitment to luxury hospitality and service excellence.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Member Nail Care & Salon Services

· Conduct confidential consultations to assess each Member's nail care preferences, lifestyle, health considerations, and service expectations. 

· Perform professional manicures, pedicures, nail shaping, cuticle care, polish application, and other licensed nail services within the scope of licensure and professional training. 

· Evaluate nail and skin conditions and recommend appropriate treatments and services based on Member needs. 

· Educate Members on proper nail care, hand and foot health, and recommended home care products. 

· Monitor Member comfort throughout each appointment and adjust services as appropriate. 

· Maintain accurate service records while protecting Member confidentiality. 

· Promote healthy nail, hand, and foot care through professional education, personalized recommendations, and exceptional Member service. 


Member Experience & Hospitality

· Deliver exceptional, personalized service that exceeds Member expectations. 

· Welcome Members warmly and create a relaxing, professional salon experience from arrival through departure. 

· Build trusted professional relationships while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. 

· Anticipate Member needs and provide thoughtful, individualized care. 

· Demonstrate professionalism, creativity, discretion, and exceptional communication throughout each appointment. 

· Protect the privacy and confidentiality of Member information. 

· Ensure salon workstations consistently reflect the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, comfort, and luxury. 


Salon Operations

· Prepare manicure and pedicure stations before each appointment, ensuring all equipment, tools, products, linens, and supplies are properly sanitized, stocked, and organized. 

· Clean and disinfect workstations, pedicure chairs, tools, and equipment following each service in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations. 

· Maintain inventory of nail care products, polishes, retail merchandise, linens, and operating supplies. 

· Report equipment maintenance or facility concerns promptly. 

· Participate in salon promotions, wellness events, Member education programs, and special Club events. 

· Recommend professional nail care products and salon services through personalized consultations and exceptional Member care. 

· Support departmental goals by encouraging Member participation in salon and wellness services while promoting a culture of confidence, self-care, and exceptional service.


Professional Standards

· Maintain all required California Manicurist licenses and professional certifications. 

· Complete all required continuing education requirements. 

· Remain current on nail care techniques, products, color trends, sanitation practices, and industry best practices. 

· Follow all sanitation, infection prevention, safety, and emergency procedures in accordance with California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology regulations. 

· Maintain a polished professional appearance consistent with Hideaway Golf Club standards. 

· Foster teamwork through positive communication and collaboration. 

· Represent Hideaway Golf Club with professionalism, integrity, creativity, and respect. 

· Perform other duties as assigned.


MEMBER EXPERIENCE & SALON EXPECTATIONS

· Review Member preferences, allergies, medical considerations, and desired outcomes prior to each appointment. 

· Begin and conclude each appointment on time while providing a seamless luxury salon experience. 

· Maintain accurate service documentation while protecting Member confidentiality. 

· Communicate professionally regarding appointments, scheduling changes, service recommendations, and home care routines. 

· Ensure manicure and pedicure stations remain clean, organized, sanitized, and guest-ready throughout the day. 

· Educate Members on professional nail care practices and recommend products that support their individual nail care goals. 

· Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards in all Member interactions. 

· Support Hideaway Golf Club's commitment to luxury wellness experiences and personalized Member care.

Requirements

• Current California Manicurist License. 

• Previous experience in a luxury salon, resort, private club, wellness center, or comparable environment preferred. 

• Thorough knowledge of manicure, pedicure, nail care techniques, sanitation requirements, and professional nail care products. 

• Ability to evaluate nail and skin conditions and customize services based on each Member's individual needs and preferences. 

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 

• Professional appearance, discretion, creativity, and sound judgment. 

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding Member information. 

• Commitment to exceptional Member service and luxury hospitality standards. 

• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays. 

• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred.


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

• Experience with specialty nail services, gel polish, natural nail care, paraffin treatments, or other licensed nail care services is preferred. 

• Retail nail care product sales experience in a luxury salon or resort environment is beneficial.

• Hospitality, customer service, or wellness industry experience is beneficial. 

• Commitment to delivering exceptional Member service while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards.


Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

• Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

• Criminal and civil background clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  

· Standing and sitting for extended periods while performing professional manicure, pedicure, and nail care services. 

· Performing repetitive hand, wrist, finger, and forearm movements while providing nail treatments, shaping, polishing, and detailed nail care. 

· Frequently reaching, bending, leaning, and adjusting body positioning while providing services and ensuring Member comfort. 

· Using professional nail care tools, files, buffers, electric nail equipment (if licensed and applicable), and other salon equipment safely and effectively. 

· Preparing manicure and pedicure stations by lifting, carrying, organizing, and replenishing towels, products, polishes, tools, and salon supplies. 

· Using computers, tablets, scheduling software, and electronic records to manage appointments, service documentation, and Member information. 

· Communicating continuously with Members, Guests, Spa staff, and management regarding appointments, services, product recommendations, and wellness offerings. 

· Maintaining salon cleanliness and sanitation by disinfecting tools and equipment, replacing linens, stocking supplies, and following infection prevention procedures. 

· Monitoring Member comfort, service quality, and safety while maintaining compliance with professional salon standards and California Board of Barbering and Cosmetology sanitation regulations. 

· Working in a professional salon environment while maintaining a polished, organized, welcoming, and luxury-focused atmosphere. 


Work Environment 

This position works throughout the Spa & Fitness Center, primarily in the salon, manicure and pedicure areas, treatment spaces, and other designated wellness locations, with occasional responsibilities in reception and retail areas. Licensed Manicurists interact closely with Members, Guests, Spa staff, and Club leadership while providing personalized nail care services, product education, and wellness recommendations. This role requires maintaining a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming salon environment while consistently delivering luxury hospitality and exceptional Member care.
