About The Company
United Steel Industrial Company (Kuwait Steel) was established in 1996 by Kuwaiti investors.In the four years that followed Kuwait Steel in collaboration with VOEST Alpine of Austria erected the first fully automated rolling mill in Kuwait. Its first rolling mill, which is built on a 40,000 square meter land area, has an annual production capacity of 750,000 metric tons of reinforcing steel bars with sizes ranging from 8mm to 40mm in diameter. Today, Kuwait Steel is composed of two rolling mill plants with a combined annual production capacity of 1.4 million metric tons and a steel making plant that produces 1.2 million metric tons per year. All steel plants are running full production capacities, catering to market demand.
About the Role
<div>To support day-to-day customs clearance activities for inbound and outbound shipments by liaising with shipping companies, clearing agents, and transporters to ensure smooth and timely delivery. The role operates under the supervision and guidance of Department Head - Shipping, follows established procedures, prepares and reviews required documentation, tracks shipment status, and escalates delays, issues, or non-compliance to the supervisor as required.</div><div><br></div><div>The role operates under the supervision of the Head of Shipping and is authorized to coordinate routine customs clearance, shipping documentation, cargo tracking, and transportation arrangements within approved procedures. The incumbent is responsible for liaising with shipping service providers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely shipment execution and delivery. The role may resolve routine operational issues and recommend corrective actions; however, decisions involving significant financial commitments, carrier selection, contract awards, policy changes, or dispute resolution are referred to the Head of Shipping for approval. The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations, shipping procedures, and company policies and for escalating exceptions, delays, and compliance concerns as necessary.</div>
