Legal Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Brazil

Work Location: Brazil, remote

Engagement Model: Freelancer / Independent Contractor

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced Brazilian Legal Subject Matter Experts specializing in corporate law, cooperative regulation, municipal legislation, and commercial matters.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in Brazilian corporate and commercial law.

• Research federal, state, and municipal legislation and administrative regulations.

• Analyze cooperative governance and regulatory requirements.

• Review commercial agreements, corporate documents, legal opinions, and regulatory materials.

• Annotate and validate Portuguese-language legal datasets.

• Verify citations, statutory interpretations, and legal terminology.

• Evaluate AI outputs and flag incorrect or unsupported legal conclusions.

• Draft and review legal summaries, commercial clauses, and structured legal analyses.

• Collaborate with AI teams on legal prompts and evaluation methodologies.

Role Requirements

• Brazilian-qualified Attorney (OAB), law graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal.

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant Brazilian legal experience.

• Strong knowledge of corporate law, commercial matters, cooperative regulations, and/or municipal legislation.

• Professional Portuguese proficiency.

• Excellent legal research, drafting, statutory analysis, and citation verification skills.

• English proficiency is a plus.

• Familiarity with Brazilian legal research systems and court/regulatory databases.

• Generative AI experience is advantageous.
