About the Role

Work Location: United Kingdom, remote

Engagement Model: Freelancer / Independent Contractor

Project Duration: 3 months (with potential extension)

Work Schedule: Flexible hours, based on the applicant's availability

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced UK Legal Subject Matter Experts specializing in commercial contracts, financial regulation, tribunal matters, and administrative law to support AI training and legal model evaluation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide legal expertise on UK commercial, regulatory, tribunal, and administrative law matters.

  • Analyze commercial contracts, contractual disputes, obligations, remedies, and risk provisions.

  • Research UK statutes, regulations, case law, tribunal decisions, and regulatory guidance.

  • Review matters involving financial services regulation and regulatory authorities.

  • Annotate and validate legal datasets and AI-generated legal responses.

  • Verify legal citations and statutory references.

  • Draft and evaluate legal memoranda, contract clauses, summaries, and legal reasoning tasks.

  • Identify AI hallucinations, unsupported conclusions, or jurisdictionally incorrect answers.

  • Support prompt engineering and legal evaluation frameworks for AI systems.

Role Requirements

  • Solicitor, Barrister, JD/LL.M. equivalent graduate, Senior Legal Researcher, or experienced Paralegal.

  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant UK legal experience.

  • Experience in commercial contracts, financial regulation, administrative law, or tribunal proceedings.

  • Strong knowledge of UK legal research methodologies.

  • Excellent legal reasoning, statutory analysis, citation verification, and drafting skills.

  • Excellent written English.

  • Familiarity with Westlaw UK, LexisNexis, Practical Law, or similar platforms preferred.

  • Familiarity with Generative AI and prompt engineering is a plus.
