About The Company
Unified Lawyers is Australia's leading family law firm. Our main focus point is to exceed expectations and go above and beyond what is required from our family law clients. This includes being responsive, accessible and approachable. Our extensive knowledge, understanding and experience in divorce and family law ensures that our services are pragmatic, commercial and actionable. Our team consists of Australia’s best and leading divorce and family lawyers that all specialise in family law.
About the Role

Help us build Australia's leading specialist family law firm.

Imagine looking back three years from now and knowing you helped build one of Australia's most admired professional services businesses.

You helped develop exceptional leaders, embedded a high-performing culture and created a place where talented people chose to stay and grow.

That's the opportunity.

Unified Lawyers has joined forces with Stowe Family Law, the UK's largest specialist family law firm, and together we're building Australia's leading specialist family law business.

Backed by a leading private equity investor, we're investing in our people, leadership and culture as we continue to grow.

We're looking for an exceptional Head of People to help make that happen.

The role

This isn't a role where you'll inherit a large HR team or spend your days writing strategy papers.

You'll be our senior People leader in Australia—partnering with our CEO and leadership team while rolling up your sleeves to deliver. One day you might be coaching a Partner through a people challenge, the next leading the integration of an acquired business, implementing a new people initiative or supporting organisational change.

You'll have the support of an experienced international People team and proven frameworks from the UK, but the autonomy to adapt them for Australia.

You'll:

  • Partner with leaders on performance, engagement, development and organisational effectiveness.

  • Deliver our People & Culture roadmap across Australia.

  • Support acquisitions and integration projects.

  • Build leadership capability through coaching and practical support.

  • Responsible for our Talent Acquisition Manager to attract and retain exceptional people.

  • Introduce people systems, processes and initiatives that help the business scale.

  • Use people data and insight to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Champion an engaging, inclusive and high-performing culture.

How we think about People

We don't believe great cultures are built through ever-growing policy manuals.

We believe they're built by hiring exceptional people, developing great leaders, setting clear expectations and trusting people to do the right thing.

We believe in principles over unnecessary policies.

As we continue to grow, you'll help our leaders embrace modern ways of working—creating a culture where accountability, flexibility and high performance go hand in hand.

About you

You'll probably already be working as an HR Manager, Senior People Business Partner or Head of People in a growing organisation.

You're equally comfortable influencing senior leaders and getting stuck into the day-to-day work. You enjoy solving problems, improving organisations and building strong relationships.

You'll bring:

  • Broad generalist HR experience.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and coaching skills.

  • Strong commercial judgement and a pragmatic approach.

  • Confidence managing employee relations matters.

  • A continuous improvement mindset and a passion for making things better.

  • The ability to influence change through credibility and relationships.

Experience in professional services, legal or supporting acquisitions would be an advantage, but isn't essential.

This could be the perfect opportunity for an experienced HR Manager or emerging Head of People looking to step into a broader leadership role with autonomy and the chance to build a function—not simply inherit one.

Why join us?

You'll join at an exciting point in our journey with the opportunity to shape how our business grows.

In return we'll offer:

  • A competitive salary.

  • Flexible hybrid working.

  • Genuine autonomy and ownership.

  • The opportunity to work on acquisitions, leadership development and organisational growth.

  • A supportive international People team who believe in sharing ideas rather than creating bureaucracy.

  • The chance to build something that will leave a lasting impact.

Interested?

We're not looking for someone to simply run HR.

We're looking for someone who wants to help build the kind of organisation that talented people choose to join—and never want to leave.

If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
