About The Company
Our clients, people and drive for quality are the energisers of our firm. They are the basis from which we deliver a powerful corporate practice, a centre of excellence in litigation and arbitration, and an unparalleled team of compliance experts. We are at our best when matters are multidisciplinary in scope, with cross-border ramifications and when reputations are at risk. This is why we encourage our lawyers to combine in-depth legal expertise with the ability to collaborate with other experts across all relevant legal and non-legal disciplines. We see our clients’ challenges with clarity and in their full legal and commercial context, wherever they operate. We advise them from our offices in Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Shanghai and Singapore on all matters important to them. Based on our expertise and experience we do this ourselves or together with local counsel if local specialist advice is required.
About the Role

Company Description

De Brauw is a leading Dutch law firm with a strong international practice. We support our clients wherever it matters most, whether that is in Amsterdam or on the other side of the world. Our lawyers, civil-law notaries and tax advisers provide the highest quality of advice on complex, often cross-border legal matters.

For over 150 years, we have combined legal depth with strategic insight and a commitment to society. Innovation, substance and development are central to everything we do — in our services and in our people. That is why we are always looking for new talent.

What drives us? The ambition to think ahead and grow together. We are one team, with room for different perspectives and for everyone's contribution. That is why we continue to invest in development: in our people, our organisation and our profession.

Job Description

About the role
We are looking for a Senior Legal Adviser to join our Energy practice — one of the firm's strategically important, firm-wide, cross-expertise practice areas, working on socially relevant topics at a time of rapid development in the energy sector. Our Energy practice advises clients on complex energy law matters across multiple practice areas, including Regulation, M&A, Finance and Litigation. You will join a dynamic team of highly qualified specialists and play a crucial role in strengthening the team's capacity and knowledge base. You will report primarily to the head of the practice group Regulation and will work closely with the other legal advisers within De Brauw as part of the broader Legal Operations department.

What will you do?
•    Support the energy practice group across multiple sections, working with Regulation, M&A, Finance and Litigation teams.
•    Stay current with developments in energy law and regulation.
•    Maintain a knowledge base with precedents, draft memoranda and develop templates.
•    Write updates and contribute to newsletters for clients and colleagues on relevant developments in the practice.
•    Actively contribute to business development activities, including pitches and client events.
•    Organise expert meetings and training sessions, and create client presentations and pitch documents.
•    Maintain and coordinate relationships with Dutch and international organisations in the field of energy.
•    Enhance team efficiency and productivity through specialist knowledge.
•    Drive innovation in the Energy practice and regularly share best practices among legal advisers.

Who are you?
We are looking for a candidate with a strong legal background and proven experience in the energy sector, who is eager to provide top-tier advice and keep track of relevant developments for our clients and the matters we handle. You bring:
•    At least 7 years of relevant experience as a lawyer, counsel or legal adviser, with a focus on energy law.
•    A strong understanding of energy law and regulation, and the ability to see the big picture in this rapidly evolving sector.
•    An innovative, self-starting, sociable and assertive approach, able to engage at all levels of the organisation.
•    Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
•    A dedicated, well-organised and hands-on mentality.
•    Excellent writing skills and an excellent command of both Dutch and English.
•    Motivation to contribute to business development, client relationship management and innovation.

What do we offer?
We offer you a challenging and independent role with flexible working hours in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary practice working on matters that relate to the energy transition, for both public and private clients, and on socially relevant topics. In addition, we offer:
•    A competitive salary, in line with your experience and the seniority of the role.
•    A 13th month as part of your annual salary.
•    A good pension scheme.
•    Travel expense reimbursement based on your commuting distance.
•    An inspiring work environment alongside highly qualified specialists.
•    Flexibility and autonomy in how you shape your role.
•    Opportunities for personal and professional development.
•    A collaborative culture with room for your own initiatives and ideas.
