Intern-Medical Testing

Labcorp is seeking an Intern-Medical Testing to join our team at in Shanghai, China

Internship Details:

  • Duration: 20 weeks, full-time/Onsite

  • Dates of Internship: Jan – May 2027

  • Compensation: Paid internship

  • Eligibility: Final-year students who are expected to graduate in July 2027 are preferred.

However, students at all academic levels who are pursuing relevant fields of study are encouraged to apply.

About Team:

Labcorp’s central laboratory supports global clinical trials by providing standardized testing to ensure consistent and trustworthy data. The team conducts routine and specialized analyses using automated instruments, monitors patient responses to investigational drugs, and maintains strict quality control under international standards. It also supports biomarker and companion diagnostic studies, linking lab results to targeted therapies.

You will learn about the various assays and their applications which are essential for clinical and commercial applications which have facilitated the discovery of new diagnostics and treatments to manage a wide array of diseases. 

  • Students will gain real-world experience working as part of a drug development team in the laboratory.

  • Understands quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • The intern will be exposed to pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical aspects of the department workflow and the applications of various assays.

  • Instruction and mentorship will be provided.

  • At the end of training, the student will do a presentation to fulfill his/her understanding in the project assignment.

Internship Assignment Summary:

  • Learns how to perform the instrument maintenance following the SOP.

  • Learns the procedure of new instrument installation and qualification.

  • Know the basic procedure of trouble shooting of instrument and know the basic principle of lab testing.

  • Knows the basic lab quality management system.

  • Knows the principle of each assay and related clinical significance.

  • Learns lab SOPs and related documents.

  • Knows the lab workflow for sample testing, including pre and post testing.

  • Knows lab reporting procedure, help lab to check and verify data.

  • Learns archiving procedure, working with lab staff to complete the archiving tasks.

  • Maintains a clean and safe laboratory work environment.

  • Participates in process improvement initiatives.

  • Plans individual workload in coordination with team members.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Current enrollment in a Medical Testing Bachelor’s degree program.

  • 3 months or more experience using computer and office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to organize data and documents effectively.

Additional Job Standards:

  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

  • With good job responsibility, carefulness, patience and earnestness.
