We’re looking for a second shift Maintenance Technician who takes pride in their work and understands the value of teamwork on the floor. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for mechanical equipment and machinery ensuring limited production downtime whenever possible. In addition, the Maintenance Tech diagnoses machinery components and determines if and when adjustments or repairs are required. The Maintenance Tech will also be responsible for facilities repairs and upkeep as needed.


This position is eligible for up to a $2,000 sign-on bonus and up to a 15% pre-tax profit share paid quarterly—because when the team succeeds, everyone shares in the results.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Priority 1- Safety, proactively address unsafe conditions, eliminating the potential for the similar situation to occur again.
  • Priority 2- Down Equipment, at an advanced level, diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems during production and repair as needed. After repair is completed, check repaired item for proper operation.
  • Ensure that production equipment is maintained in a safe and secure manner.
  • Respond timely to urgent issues causing production downtime, reductions in production efficiency or causing a safety concern.
  • Priority 3- Corrective actions repairs from backlog or PM inspections. Ensure that all production machinery and equipment is performing safely and correctly, with parameters designed. Use WO backlog list or “new CMM system-IQMS” to control their completed.
  • Priority 4- PM Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment in accordance with written procedures.
  • Priority 5- Requests and Projects are planned and completed (prioritized as needed)
  • Keep plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. Examine machines to diagnose trouble, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble and make necessary adjustments to insure efficient operation.
  • Assist Maintenance Techs 2 & 3 in repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Perform P.M.’s, during this process seek out items that are in need of repair, either perform repair or fill out work orders to do repair at a future date.
  • Make repairs on rivet guns, clamps, air tools etc.
  • Facilities duties will include changing filters and cleaning HVAC units, changing/repairing lights and light fixtures, plumbing fixture repair, and other facility related operations and repairs.
  • Keep up on Facilities and Maintenance Task Lists.


Marginal Job Functions:

  • Delivery and pick-up of parts and or production as needed.
  • Other job duties as assigned.


Minimum Level of Education/Training Required:

  • 1 – 5 years in manufacturing maintenance role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent


Minimum Experience Required:

  • At a basic level, proven experience in troubleshooting/repairs of production equipment including: pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to operate, inspect, and repair air and electric power hand tools.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance tasks on industrial machinery (grease, inspect, oil, tighten, etc. various components including bearings, chains, belts, filters, and etc.).
  • Basic blueprint reading including understanding tolerances.
  • Basic plumbing skills (sweat copper pipe and fittings, cut/thread steel pipe and fittings, cut/glue PVC pipe and fittings).
  • Basic electrical skills (install and troubleshoot single phase and three phase distribution circuits).
  • Basic understanding in Machining and fabrication (be able to use drill presses, grinders, milling machinery and lathes, etc.)
  • Ability to weld steel
  • Ability to fabricate components from written and verbal instruction.
  • Ability to troubleshoot industrial machinery at a basic level.
  • Ability to calibrate CNC trimming equipment.


License or Certificate Required:

  • Forklift driver certificate (Hampel provides on-site training).
