Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S)

Location: Flexible within The Gund Company's footprint. While headquartered in St. Louis, MO, this leader may be based at any Gund Company facility and will maintain a visible presence across our operations to drive enterprise-wide EH&S excellence.

Build the Future of EH&S at The Gund Company

Most EH&S leadership roles ask you to maintain a program.

This role asks you to build a legacy.

The Gund Company is searching for an experienced Director of Environmental Health & Safety to lead the next chapter of our global EH&S strategy. As we continue to grow, expand operations, and strengthen our global footprint, we need a visionary leader who can transform a strong foundation into a world-class EH&S organization.

This is not a role for someone who simply wants to administer compliance.

This is an opportunity for a builder. A leader who sees around corners. Someone who can develop enterprise standards, create scalable systems, influence executive decisions, strengthen safety culture, and leave a lasting impact on employees across the globe.

With a planned leadership transition and increasing focus on sustainability, growth, and operational excellence, the next Director of EH&S will play a critical role in shaping how safety and environmental stewardship evolve across The Gund Company for years to come.

What You Will Build

  • A unified global EH&S strategy that supports a growing manufacturing organization.
  • Enterprise-wide safety standards, governance processes, and accountability systems.
  • A culture where safety is not a program, but a leadership expectation.
  • Scalable compliance and risk management systems that support future growth and acquisitions.
  • Robust environmental and sustainability initiatives that position the company for long-term success.
  • The next generation of EH&S talent and leadership capability across the organization.

Why This Opportunity Is Different

  • Direct partnership with executive leadership.

  • Significant influence on employee safety, environmental stewardship, and business performance.
  • The chance to take a respected, established program and elevate it to the next level.

The Leader We Are Looking For

You thrive in complex manufacturing environments. You've led EH&S across multiple sites, influenced leaders without formal authority, and successfully balanced operational needs with regulatory requirements. You bring:

  • Experience building and executing enterprise wide EH&S strategies.
  • Expertise in compliance, risk management, and safety management systems.
  • Strong business acumen and executive communication skills.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.
  • A track record of improving safety culture and organizational performance.
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, and organizational growth initiatives.
