About the Role

Description

Professional Care Medical Practices PC ("Professional Care”) is a private, physician founded, nationally accredited correctional health care practice.


Professional Care provides comprehensive medical & mental health care services in the state of New York.

Correctional health care is a unique, challenging, and exciting opportunity for today’s medical professional in that it provides the ability to truly utilize all of your learned medical skills and knowledge on a daily basis. It is the perfect hybrid of Primary Care, Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, and Addiction Medicine; providing care to an under-served, diverse, and appreciative patient population.


We are looking for a Full Time Physician / Medical Director to provider on-site service in the medical department throughout multiple county level correctional facilities in the Capital Region in New York. This position is Monday - Friday normal business hours.


Facilities in this region are the following:

- Schenectady County Jail in Schenectady, NY;

- Rensselaer County Jail in Troy, NY;

- Montgomery County Jail in Fultonville, NY; 

- Saratoga County Correctional Facility in Ballston Spa, NY;

- Schoharie County Jail in Howes Cave, NY;

- Greene County Jail in Coxsackie, NY;  and

-  Fulton County Correctional Facility in Johnstown, NY.

  • Salaries are negotiable and commensurate based on experience. rate range: $280,000.00 - $320,000.00 per year

  • Elective life insurance, short-term disability, and long-term disability benefits offered.

  • Paid time off will accrue for a maximum accrual of fifteen (15) days (or 120 hours) per year. In addition, you will also receive six (6) floating holidays, pro-rated within your first year of employment as dictated by your effective hire date. You are also eligible to accrue “sick and safe” leave benefits under the New York State Sick Leave Law (i.e., NYSSL). NYSSL accrues at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours of straight time worked, for a maximum annual accrual of fifty-six (56) hours.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine, specialty training preferred in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Correctional Medicine, and/or Urgent Care.
  • Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of New York.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Maintain current DEA number and eligible to prescribe medications in New York state.
  • Maintain active BLS (i.e., CPR) certification.
  • Maintain current Driver’s License.
