Description
Hazelett is seeking a skilled Electrical Journeyman to join our team and play a critical role in supporting both our manufacturing operations and the custom casting equipment we deliver to customers around the world. In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning electrical systems for industry-leading machinery while helping maintain and improve our plant equipment and infrastructure. What You Will Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical systems on manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, motors, drives, and control systems.
- Build, wire, and assemble electrical control panels for custom machinery according to electrical schematics, specifications, and industry standards.
- Test, validate, and debug electrical control panels and machine systems prior to installation and shipment.
- Install, commission, and support new equipment and control systems on the production floor.
- Diagnose electrical and automation-related issues and implement solutions that minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and PLC ladder logic.
- Support automated manufacturing processes through troubleshooting and maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and related controls.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities to resolve recurring equipment failures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and lockout/tagout safety requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to improve operational performance and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, panel builds, and spare parts usage.
- Support facility electrical infrastructure and contribute to equipment upgrades, modernization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
What You Will Need
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Electrical Journeyman license or certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or maintenance environment.
- Hands-on experience building, wiring, and testing industrial control panels.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including motors, VFDs, relays, sensors, control circuits, and power distribution systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical, controls, and automation-related equipment issues in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations, including OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, work around industrial machinery, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical certification, or formal training in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Automation, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or other industrial PLC systems.
- Experience with robotics, automated manufacturing systems, vision systems, CNC equipment, or advanced controls.
- Familiarity with UL508A control panel standards and related compliance requirements.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience supporting complex manufacturing equipment.
- Flexibility to support overtime, shift work, weekends, or on-call maintenance activities when required.

1st Shift Position: Flexible schedule with either five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days.
The hourly pay range for this full-time position is $27 - $32. Your hourly pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, our ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
