About the Role
Description
PURPOSE STATEMENT
Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging exams of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed, according to established protocols.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review requisitions, check and prepare equipment and supplies.
- Identify and screen patients for possible allergies to contrast materials and metal in body.
- Explain procedure to patient, position patient on table and use appropriate coil for exam.
- Schedule and/or Reschedule patients as needed.
- Review/evaluate completed images for quality, completeness and type of test ordered, provide histories to radiologist for complete diagnosis.
- Monitor patient's condition during and after exam to ensure patients safety.
- Record/label images in sequence and with patient identification and other information required by the Radiologist to make an accurate diagnosis.
- Enter exams in the Radiology Information System and PACS.
- Comply with established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality.
- Attend in-service and other meetings as required.
- Perform duties of Radiologic Technologist as needed.
- Send images to cloud system.
- Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
- ARRT registry in Radiology required and ARRT registry in MRI is preferred.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
- Current AHA or Red Cross BLS is required.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
- Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
- Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
- Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
- Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
- Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally walks on uneven surfaces.
