About the Role

Description

Stowers Machinery is proud to expand from East Tennessee into Southern Florida through the launch of Coastal Construction Equipment, LLC, the region's Cat® Compact Equipment Dealer. This significant growth initiative will establish a new organization designed to provide customers throughout Southern Florida with exceptional equipment sales, rental, parts, service, and product support.

Position Scope:

This is not primarily a task-execution or facilities-management role. Functional leaders and subject-matter experts will remain responsible for executing their respective areas of the business. The Program Manager will operate across those functions to ensure the overall initiative moves forward as one integrated program. Frequent regional travel will be required.

Building this operation requires the coordinated execution of numerous interconnected initiatives across facilities, information technology, equipment and fleet deployment, sales, rental, service, parts, marketing, human resources, finance, logistics, operational readiness, customer experience, and corporate requirements. We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to own the integrated program plan, coordinate dependencies across internal and external workstreams, establish and maintain the program operating rhythm, drive accountability for milestones and commitments, proactively identify risks and bottlenecks, and provide leadership with clear visibility into overall program health.

This individual will work closely with Coastal and Stowers leadership, corporate project managers, consultants, contractors, vendors, technology partners, and other external organizations—many of whom maintain their own project plans, timelines, and deliverables.

The successful candidate will be able to take a highly complex initiative involving multiple organizations and hundreds of activities and create a clear answer to five fundamental questions:

  • Where are we?
  • What needs to happen next?
  • Who owns it?
  • What is at risk?
  • What decisions are required?

Requirements

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction, facility buildouts, and branch startup processes.
  • Strong understanding of operational workflows and process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and reporting tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and third-party service providers.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout Southern Florida and other assigned locations.

Preferred Qualification(s)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Experience supporting branch openings, facility expansions, or multi-site operations.
  • Experience supporting information technology implementations.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, dealership operations, or industrial service environments.
  • Experience in change management and business process implementation.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.
  • Consulting or corporate project management experience preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead experienced, cross-functional teams through startup initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities between operations, sales, service, parts, HR, IT, marketing, and finance departments.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, architects, suppliers, landlords, and vendors.
  • Drive accountability, project timelines, and milestone completion.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience And Skills

  • 5+ years of project management experience in consulting, construction, operations, information technology, facility expansion, dealership operations, or a related field.
  • Experience managing budgets, capital expenditures, and project forecasting.
  • Experience developing and documenting standard operating procedures and business processes.
  • Ability to identify operational gaps and implement scalable solutions.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup-oriented environment.

Work Environment

  • Comfortable working in both a physical office and construction site environment in addition to proficiency in running virtual meetings with geographically disperse teams.
  • Frequent travel throughout Southern Florida and other company locations as required.
  • May occasionally work evenings or weekends to support project deadlines and branch opening activities.
  • Requires the ability to navigate active construction and industrial work environments while adhering to all safety requirements.

Most work is conducted in a comfortable office environment but exposure to site conditions may also occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn in areas as required. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, employees must be careful while performing onsite services.

This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive, and the employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. Coastal Equipment Company reserves the right to revise or change duties as the need arises. This job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment.
