About the Role

Title: Residential Lending Assistant

Location: Hybrid role based at Concord Main Office

Position Details: Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM

Hourly Pay: Negotiable based on level of experience between $23.00 - $27.00 per hour



At The Merrimack, our work is rooted in the people and communities we serve. We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Residential Lending Assistant who enjoys helping customers feel supported during one of life’s most important financial decisions. In this role, you will be part of a collaborative lending team that values responsive service, strong relationships, and a thoughtful approach to guiding customers through the mortgage and home equity lending process. You will support mortgage lenders, coordinate borrower documentation, assist with customer communications, and help keep applications moving forward with care, accuracy, and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

  • Support mortgage lenders by preparing applications for processing, ensuring files are complete, accurate, and ready for the next step
  • Contact borrowers to request required documentation, assist with customer questions, and help deliver timely follow-up throughout the lending process
  • Coordinate residential mortgage and home equity leads, inquiries, incomplete applications, withdrawn applications, early denials, renewals, and note modification requests
  • Maintain lending-related reports, email templates, forms, packets, letters, presentations, meeting materials, and department documents
  • Assist borrowers with Consumer Portal access and password resets
  • Support Realtor and customer events by coordinating materials and supplies for Residential Lending initiatives
  • Follow up with borrowers after closing, including post-closing surveys, first-payment information, and customer appreciation materials


What We’re Looking For

  • At least two years of experience in a customer-focused office environment, preferably with general knowledge of loan products or financial services
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a professional telephone presence and a commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to broader team goals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, and related lending systems
  • Adaptability, willingness to learn, and the ability to support efficient, customer-centered lending operations
