The Merchandising Director is responsible for supporting the President, South Asia Pacific with product strategy and driving the execution of the global merchandising vision into regional plans that maximize sales, elevate brand desirability, and deliver exceptional client experiences across the South Asia Pacific Zone. The role serves as a strategic thought partner to the President on product strategy, commercial opportunities, category development, and competitive positioning.


The Director leads merchandising strategies across Retail, E-commerce and Retail Partners businesses, balancing long-term strategic planning with agile execution. They partner closely with Global Assortment Planning, Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Training and Finance to optimize product assortments, forecasting, inventory productivity and commercial performance across all product categories, including High Jewelry.


The role owns regional merchandising insights, assortment productivity, space optimization and product lifecycle performance, while ensuring the South Asia Pacific perspective is represented within global merchandising initiatives and assortment planning decisions.

Responsibilities

Regional Product Strategy & Merchandising Leadership

  • Provide strategic product leadership and support to the President, South Asia Pacific.
  • Drive product perspective for budget planning, commercial reviews and business performance discussions.
  • Develop regional merchandising strategies aligned with global business objectives and regional growth ambitions.
  • Lead assortment optimization across Retail, E-commerce and Retail Partners channels.
  • Provide strategic feedback on upcoming product launches and category development opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, competitive pricing and consumer behavior to influence product strategies.
  • Partner with Global Assortment Planning to represent regional business needs and opportunities.
  • Deliver Retail Communications for product launches, merchandising initiatives and collection strategies.
  • Serve as liaison for product education and training on new collection introductions.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance client experience through improved assortment, product storytelling and merchandising execution.

 

Merchandise Planning, Forecasting & Inventory Optimization

  • Develop category-level sales plans and forecasts for annual budgeting and commercial planning processes.
  • Provide sales forecasts and productivity expectations for new product introductions and key launches.
  • Partner with Demand Planning to develop accurate monthly and quarterly sales projections.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Planning to optimize inventory allocation and replenishment strategies.
  • Monitor inventory health, assortment productivity and product lifecycle performance.
  • Partner with Finance to align merchandising assumptions with sales and inventory forecasts.

 

Business Performance & Commercial Optimization

  • Lead space optimization and caseline productivity initiatives across the region.
  • Determine pad count allocation and assortment architecture by store and collection.
  • Drive productivity improvements through assortment effectiveness and product mix optimization.
  • Translate consumer analytics into actionable product recommendations.
  • Leverage central reporting and analytics to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with market leaders on strategic commercial actions to maximize productivity and sales performance.
  • Support new store openings, relocations and store re-merchandising projects.
  • Establish KPIs and performance measures to evaluate merchandising effectiveness and business outcomes.

 

Creative Visual Merchandising & Client Experience

  • Lead the region's Creative Visual Merchandising strategy and governance.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of global Visual Merchandising standards.
  • Partner with central and local teams to execute seasonal campaigns and major product activations.
  • Support planning and execution of pop-ups, client events and key commercial activations.
  • Drive in-store merchandising initiatives to elevate client experience and product visibility.
  • Develop store-level capability through coaching and support of Visual Merchandising ambassadors and field teams.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to global partners on Creative Visual Merchandising effectiveness.

 

High Jewelry, Events & Special Assortments

  • Curate event assortments aligned with commercial objectives and client opportunities.
  • Evaluate and coordinate High Jewelry requests and allocations.
  • Partner with Marketing and Public Relations on event planning and execution.
  • Monitor event performance and provide post-event commercial analysis.
  • Communicate regional High Jewelry opportunities and performance to global partners.
  • Ensure adequate replenishment and backfilling support following event sales.

 

Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Develop and coach a high-performing merchandising organization aligned to Tiffany competencies.
  • Establish clear goals, development plans and performance KPIs for team members.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Drive effective collaboration across Retail, Finance, Marketing, Operations, Learning & Development and Global Merchandising.
  • Align strategic and operational priorities across the region.
  • Ensure clarity of reporting structures, governance, SLAs and performance expectations with Corporate partners.
  • Act as a role model for collaboration, agility and business leadership.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of business experience with at least 5+ years in senior management in a regional capacity
  • Bachelor Degree
