Job Summary
Cobec is seeking an organized, resourceful intern to support our Washington, DC office and help create a welcoming, well-run experience for employees and visitors.
This is a hands-on role supporting workplace operations, employee communications, marketing, onboarding, meetings, and company events. The intern will help develop graphics, recruiting materials, social media content, and website updates, and may support Cobec On Air through episode clips, captions, show notes, and promotional content. The role will also provide opportunities to use AI-enabled content creation and editing tools responsibly. The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, takes ownership, communicates well, and can bring structure and creativity to a fast-moving environment.
Relevant Experience
Prior customer service, hospitality, office, administrative, or event-support experience is preferred, but not required. Experience or demonstrated interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, social media, podcasting, website content, or AI-enabled content creation and editing tools is a plus..
Essential Job Functions
The intern will support the following activities under the direction of Cobec staff. Responsibilities may evolve based on business needs and the intern’s interests and capabilities..
- Workplace Operations and Employee Experience
- Serve as a welcoming resource for employees, visitors, vendors, and guests.
- Maintain a regular presence at the front desk during scheduled onsite hours and serve as the first point of welcome for employees, candidates, visitors, vendors, and guests.
- Help create a welcoming, distinctly Cobec office experience through approved music, food and snack coordination, seasonal decorations, shared-space presentation, and thoughtful support for office celebrations and gatherings.
- Support office supplies, mail, shipping and receiving, workspace organization, and shared spaces.
- Conduct weekly conference-room checks, including testing microphones, cameras, audio, and other AV equipment. Help maintain clear room instructions and troubleshooting guides.
- Coordinate with building management and service vendors as needed.
- Assist with visitor logs, badges, building-access requests, equipment shipments, and related records under staff supervision.
- Meetings, Events, and Onboarding
- Support room reservations, catering, technology setup, meeting materials, and guest coordination.
- Provide onsite meeting and event support, including setup, teardown, and vendor coordination.
- Help manage Cobec-branded merchandise inventory, packaging, and distribution.
- Assist with new-hire welcome materials, biographies, internal introductions, and other approved onboarding activities.
- Marketing and Communications
- Create and update graphics, recruiting materials, presentations, internal communications, and digital content using Cobec’s brand guidelines.
- Draft social media content for review and approval by Cobec staff.
- Support Cobec On Air by helping prepare episode clips, captions, show notes, graphics, and promotional content.
- Support Cobec’s website redesign and ongoing updates through content organization, copy development, asset management, quality checks, and basic content updates.
- Use approved AI-enabled content creation and editing tools to help draft, repurpose, and refine content, with human review before anything is published.
- Help organize employee resources by archiving outdated files, applying approved naming and branding conventions, and recommending improvements.
- Special Projects
- Own at least one clearly defined project from planning through completion with guidance from Cobec staff.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing or hold a degree or certificate in business, marketing, communications, graphic design, hospitality, human resources, or a related field. Candidates with equivalent experience or demonstrated interest in these areas will also be considered.

- Experience with graphic design, social media, video or podcast editing, or website-content tools is a plus, but not required.
- Able to track, hunt, and destroy Horcruxes[KO7] [CK8] with your bare hands.
