At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to uni with experience you can apply immediately. The Aerodynamic Test Facilities department are responsible for the operation and development of the state-of-the-art Wind Tunnel Facilities within Williams. Our team of multidiscipline engineers actively seek new technology and solutions to continuously improve our testing methodologies to ensure the highest quality experiments and enhance our on-track performance. 

On this 12-month placement you support the technical development of the Aerodynamic Test Facilities (ATF) and operating the team's wind tunnel. 

This factory-based role uses your electronics and systems knowledge to deliver wind tunnel projects, from concept and development through to operational use. You work in a supportive, collaborative team on systems that improve how the Wind Tunnel operates, focusing on skills that directly develop the wind tunnel model and facility.    

• You will be trained on how the Wind Tunnel operates and be trusted in operating the facility as part of a rotating shift schedule 
• Create and develop applications and electro-mechanical projects to improve test technique and capability 
• Apply analytical thinking and problem solving to technical challenges and testing 
• Collaborate across departments and communicate with multi-disciplinary teams 
• Take part in Early Careers learning throughout the placement 

What we are looking for:  

• A background in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering with exposure to electrical hardware and tooling. 
• Strong collaboration skills and an understanding of what drives high-performance teams 
• Adaptable, able to respond confidently to schedule and last-minute changes 
• Good attention to detail in data analysis
