GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Chief Membership Experience Officer serves as the executive leader responsible for the vision, strategy, and organizational performance of Alpha Delta Pi's end-to-end membership experience.
This role provides executive leadership for Alpha Delta Pi's Growth, Member Experience, and Education & Development functions, ensuring they operate as one integrated division supporting the organization's mission and long-term strategic priorities. The Chief Membership Experience Officer establishes the organization's long-term strategy for developing, engaging, supporting, and retaining members across every stage of the membership journey while driving sustainable organizational growth.
The Chief Membership Experience Officer ensures chapter operations, member support, education and leadership development, accountability, engagement, and organizational growth function as one connected member experience. By aligning these areas, the role creates a cohesive and consistent journey that strengthens member success, organizational effectiveness, and lifelong engagement.
Serving as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this position partners closely with the Executive Director and Grand Council to define organizational priorities, establish measurable success indicators, anticipate emerging trends/organizational risks and future opportunities, and shape organizational strategies that strengthen organizational relevance, member outcomes, and sustainable growth.
The Chief Membership Experience Officer translates organizational vision into actionable membership-wide strategies, scalable systems, and measurable outcomes while fostering innovation, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement throughout the membership experience.
DUTIES PERFORMED
Strategic Planning and Organizational Performance
- Develop and advance Alpha Delta Pi's Membership Experience strategy in alignment with the organization's strategic plan and future vision.
- Establish performance measures, organizational dashboards, and assessment strategies that evaluate the health of the membership experience and inform Executive Leadership and Grand Council decision-making.
- Translate organizational priorities into integrated team strategies, annual operating plans, and organization-wide initiatives.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the Executive Director and Grand Council informed by organizational data, member insights, and emerging trends.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, improve member outcomes, and position Alpha Delta Pi for sustainable success.
- Ensure chapter operations, member support, educational programming, accountability practices, leadership development, and engagement strategies work together as an integrated system that reinforces member learning and organizational expectations.
Membership Journey and Experience Strategy
- Define and continuously enhance the end-to-end membership experience, ensuring a connected and engaging journey from pre-collegiate potential new members through lifelong membership.
- Align member support, educational programming, accountability practices, and engagement strategies to create a consistent, mission-centered member experience.
- Evaluate member trends, needs, and feedback to identify opportunities that strengthen engagement, belonging, and long-term member success.
- Monitor demographic, higher education, volunteer engagement, and industry trends to proactively position Alpha Delta Pi for future member needs and organizational relevance.
- Champion innovative approaches that increase the value, relevance, and impact of the Alpha Delta Pi membership experience.
Growth and Organizational Sustainability
- Develop and oversee Alpha Delta Pi's long-term organizational growth strategy, including extension, market expansion, chapter sustainability, and membership growth initiatives.
- Establish strategic priorities that identify opportunities to strengthen the Sorority's membership footprint and long-term organizational health.
- Provide executive oversight of extension strategy, including market evaluation, expansion priorities, and new chapter development.
- Ensure growth initiatives align with Membership Experience, organizational capacity, and long-term strategic goals.
- Partner with campus stakeholders, volunteers, and Executive Office leadership to position Alpha Delta Pi for sustainable expansion and success.
Education and Member Development
- Provide leadership for Alpha Delta Pi's member education strategy, ensuring learning opportunities support every stage of the membership journey.
- Establish the strategic direction for Alpha Delta Pi's member learning ecosystem, ensuring educational experiences, conferences, officer development, volunteer education, digital learning platforms, and member resources directly support the membership experience and evolving organizational priorities.
- Ensure educational content, delivery methods, and learning technologies remain innovative, accessible, and aligned with organizational priorities.
- Guide the development and continuous improvement of member resources, including officer materials, digital learning platforms, educational publications, and leadership curriculum.
- Ensure accountability practices and harm reduction education are integrated into the broader member development philosophy.
Executive Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Membership Experience team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the executive sponsor for Membership Experience initiatives, ensuring alignment across departments, volunteers, and organizational stakeholders.
- Advise the Executive Director and Grand Council on organizational opportunities, emerging risks, and strategic investments related to membership experience, organizational growth, and member development. Represent Alpha Delta Pi as a strategic thought leader and advocate for the organization's membership experience vision.
- Serve as Alpha Delta Pi's executive representative in national conversations related to membership, higher education, organizational growth, volunteer engagement, and member development.
- Develop future organizational leaders through coaching, succession planning, leadership development, and organizational capacity building.
SUGGESTED BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience, including leading multiple teams or functional areas.
- Demonstrated success developing and executing organizational strategy, leading organization-wide initiatives, and leading organizational change.
- Experience aligning people, processes, and priorities to achieve measurable organizational outcomes.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing leaders.
- Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to influence diverse stakeholders, build consensus, and lead through collaboration.
- Experience using data and assessment to inform strategy and drive continuous improvement.
- Member of Alpha Delta Pi preferred. Experience in a membership-based, volunteer-driven, or higher education environment preferred.

POTENTIAL TRAVEL
- Extension exploratory visits, campus presentations, and on-site extension support throughout the year, as needed
- Chapter visits related to sustainability, growth initiatives, and organizational support efforts, as needed

- Conference travel and professional development opportunities as determined by supervisors (throughout the year)
EMPLOYMENT LOCATION
This position is based at Alpha Delta Pi’s Executive Office in Atlanta, GA. to perform tasks that are generally required to be performed in-person. Atlanta based staff participate in a hybrid work schedule that may be granted after the first 90-days of employment. Alpha Delta Pi reserves the right to change work status with notice to employee.
