Buck Knives is hiring multiple team members for our Fabrication Department at our manufacturing facility in Post Falls, Idaho.

PAY RATE

Starting pay rate for the following positions is $18.00 per hour.

POSITION OVERVIEWS

Heat Treat Operator

The Heat Treat Operator supports the heat-treating process used to achieve the required hardness and performance characteristics of our blades and components.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate heat treat equipment and related machinery
  • Load and unload blades and components
  • Follow established heat treatment processes and work instructions
  • Monitor equipment and process conditions
  • Perform basic quality checks and identify potential defects
  • Maintain accurate production records as required
  • Follow all safety procedures, including requirements for working around hot materials and equipment
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Tumble Operator

The Tumble Operator operates equipment used to clean, finish, deburr, and prepare blades and components for the next stage of manufacturing.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload tumbling and finishing equipment
  • Operate machinery according to established processes
  • Inspect blades and components for quality and proper finish
  • Separate and organize completed parts
  • Monitor equipment during operation
  • Follow production schedules and work instructions
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area

Laser Etch Operator

The Laser Etch Operator uses laser equipment to apply logos, markings, identification, and other required information to blades and components.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate laser etching equipment
  • Position blades and components correctly for marking
  • Select and verify appropriate programs and work instructions
  • Inspect finished markings for placement, clarity, and quality
  • Identify and report defects or equipment concerns
  • Accurately track production
  • Handle finished products carefully to prevent damage
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Prep Operator

The Prep Operator prepares blades, components, and other parts for the assembly process. This position is an important link between Fabrication and Assembly and helps ensure components meet quality standards before moving forward in production.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare blades and components for assembly
  • Clean, inspect, sort, and organize parts
  • Perform required finishing or preparation processes
  • Identify defects or components that do not meet quality standards
  • Follow work instructions and production requirements
  • Maintain proper material flow to support Assembly
  • Safely use hand tools, equipment, and machinery as required
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is helpful, but not required for all positions. We are willing to train candidates who demonstrate reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Depending on the position, employees may be required to:

  • Stand for extended periods of time up to 10 Hours Per Day
  • Frequently use hands and arms to handle materials and components
  • Perform repetitive motions
  • Bend, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift
  • Lift and move materials, up to 50 lbs, within the requirements of the assigned position
  • Work around manufacturing machinery, noise, heat, oils, compounds, and other materials commonly found in a production environment
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
