About the Role

Description

Friends of Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy is a 501c3 non-profit organization that supports the delivery of pediatric therapy services and additional programs to support families with children with special needs. Our mission is to improve access to hippotherapy services at Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy, for every child who needs it!

We are proud to serve over 850 patients and their families per week on our 4 acre campus, with our growing staff and volunteers.


We are seeking a proactive, relationship-driven Fundraising & Development Specialist for a part-time independent contractor for approximately 10–15 hours per week, with opportunity to grow as development and fundraising increases.


This hands-on role will execute fundraising and development activities that advance our mission. The contractor will spend time in the community building meaningful relationships, identifying funding opportunities, and moving outreach efforts from initial contact through follow-up and stewardship.

  • Compensation: $40 per hour.
  • Work arrangement: A mix of independent work and local, in-person activity as needed for donor meetings, community outreach, events, and partner engagement. The contractor will determine the manner and means of completing agreed services while meeting established deadlines and coordinating necessary meetings.


Requirements

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience performing nonprofit fundraising, development, donor relations, sponsorship outreach, or closely related work.
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Ability to translate an organization’s mission and impact into clear, compelling donor messages.
  • Self-directed and comfortable taking ownership of multiple priorities, deadlines, outreach efforts, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Comfort using donor databases, spreadsheets, email platforms, and common productivity tools.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, attention to detail, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Existing knowledge of the local philanthropic community or relevant funder networks is a plus.
