IS THIS YOU?
• You're an experienced flat-rate technician with strong diagnostic fundamentals and a quality standard you hold yourself to without being managed
• You have GM, domestic, or import brand experience and you know how to work efficiently and accurately across a range of systems on vehicles that Alaska's conditions put to the test
• You're looking for a stable, active role at a high-volume multi-brand Anchorage dealership where your skills are valued and your neighbors depend on the work you do
WHO WE ARE
Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.
Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac of Anchorage is a high-volume, multi-brand dealership serving one of Alaska's most active automotive communities. Alaska's conditions push vehicles harder than almost anywhere in the country -- and the technicians who keep them running earn the lasting trust of the community they serve. GM or domestic experience is preferred, but strong technicians from import backgrounds are welcome.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Diagnose and repair Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, suspension, HVAC, four-wheel drive, and beyond -- using GM diagnostic platforms and OEM procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization
• Execute repairs to GM factory specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts
• Complete repair orders accurately -- documenting all work performed and parts used with precision
• Stay current on GM technical service bulletins, software updates, and manufacturer repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 2+ years of flat-rate technician experience in a franchised dealership -- required
• GM or domestic brand experience strongly preferred -- Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, Ford, Ram, or similar backgrounds a strong advantage; import technicians with solid fundamentals welcome
• GDS2 or equivalent GM diagnostic platform experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic foundation -- able to work through multi-system problems accurately and efficiently, including 4WD and cold-weather wear patterns common in Alaska
• ASE certifications a strong plus -- GM factory certifications highly valued
• Low comeback rate and a quality standard you own
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
WHAT WE OFFER
• $22.50/hr flat rate
• Progressive pay plan -- GM factory certifications and tenure increase your rate over time
• Paid GM manufacturer training and certification support
• 401(k) plan
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• Clear career path -- strong technicians grow into senior tech, shop foreman, and service management roles at Swickard
• Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts
