About the Role

Description

Do you want to work for a fun, value-driven, team-focused company that invests in the success of its people? Do you have a passion for international production and logistics you're ready to take to the next level?

This role follows our hybrid policy: three days a week in our Fishtown office, two days working from home. No remote option and relocation is not provided.

The Role

Pop! Promos is hiring a Director of Production to join our growing team. This is the right seat for someone with a proven background in overseas production management, real people-management experience, and the drive to build something as we scale. You'll be accountable for the on-time, accurate production of 400+ orders running simultaneously across dozens of factories, and you'll lead negotiations with our overseas factory partners to lower costs and improve production time and performance. You'll also own our factory partners' social and safety compliance program and documentation. The strongest candidates are highly process-oriented, detail-driven, quantitatively sharp, and clear communicators.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and hold accountable our internal Production Associate and our overseas factories and office managers.
  • Own the relationship with our factory partners: capacity, delivery timing, quality, and cost.
  • Keep the Weekly Production Schedule on track, targeting 99% on-time, accurate delivery.
  • Be the point person resolving day-to-day production issues between our factories and our Philadelphia sales team.
  • Lead our factory partners' safety and social-compliance program, and manage compliance with CBP and international shipping requirements.
  • Build and improve the SOPs and trackers that make our production operation faster and more efficient.
  • Set goals for the Production team and build the plan to scale it as we grow.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • A bachelor's degree and 7–10 years managing overseas manufacturers and suppliers, ideally in China and India, in an on-the-ground production management role.
  • People-management experience, ideally leading teams overseas.
  • Experience with international shipping, customs clearance, and supplier safety/social compliance.
  • A track record of international travel to overseas factories, and the willingness to keep traveling.
  • Sharp written communication, strong quantitative instincts, and the ability to make good calls without waiting for complete information.
  • A highly organized, detail-obsessed approach to a fast-moving, multi-project workload.

What We Offer

  • A competitive base salary plus performance-based compensation.
  • Health insurance and a retirement plan with company match.
  • Paid PTO and holidays.
  • Real opportunities for advancement based on performance.
  • Frequent team bonding, in person and virtual.

Ready to lead production for a company that's still writing its growth story? We'd love to hear from you.
