Position Summary

This position participates in cross-functional settings and work with support functions, manufacturing, quality engineer, and facilities. This position also is involved in minimizing risk in new parts, customers, and processes.

Duties and Responsibilities 

· Capable of interpreting customer supplied drawings and determining the best method of manufacturing considering the equipment available and the current manufacturing schedule. 

· Writes set up sheet work instructions for machine center operators that will call out fixturing requirements, tooling, and any other miscellaneous information pertaining to the project.

· Proficient in writing work instructions in detail pertaining to any one of the fabrication processes.

· Utilizes 3D CAD software to help shop floor employees better understand the manufacturing process of various parts. 

· 3D model customer parts using their supplied drawings utilizing CAD software.

· Supports the shop floor in any fixture design / work holding suggestions.

· Works with employees on the shop floor to improve efficiency, safety, and quality of manufacturing processes.

· Work with QC to ensure all QMS requirements are being met during job routing.

· Build B.O.M. on job routers to conform with customer material requirements called out on the print, parts list and or contract. 

· Maintains revision control of manufactured parts using our ERP system. 

· Basic understanding of at least four of the following: laser programming, turret programming, CNC programming, press brake setup and programming, welding, manual machining, finishing

· Assist to specify material, hardware, and finishing supplies pertaining to the job or project assigned. 

· Works with QC to review material certifications from vendors and sign off that they meet the called-out requirements from the contract. 

· Effectively communicates any issues encountered while working on assigned projects back to supervisor and the customer as needed in a professional and timely manner. 

· Supports cost reduction and continual improvement activities.

· Analyzes raw data and generates useable reports.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  Position Qualifications

· Bachelors degree in Engineering preferred.

·  5+ years of experience in Engineering or related discipline preferred.

· Attention to detail and accuracy.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.

· Displays confident decision-making ability.

· Understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures.

· Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication background is a plus.

· Comfort with Mastercam, SolidWorks, Radan, Etc. or similar software is a plus.

· Knowledge of materials and their chemical and physical properties is a plus. 

· Basic understanding of ISO 9001 workflow requirements and the ability to follow such procedures - is a plus
