McIver Clinic has been a trusted leader in urological care in Jacksonville since 1921. With multiple locations throughout the greater Jacksonville area and more than 27 providers, we provide patient-centered care across a broad range of urological services.


Job Overview

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our perioperative team. This position will support providers and clinical staff with patient preparation, room and procedure preparation, clinical documentation, and other patient-care activities.


Essential Job Functions

  • Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for evaluation by the provider.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and the reason for the patient's visit.
  • Prepare and organize procedure rooms, instruments, and supplies for in-office procedures in accordance with established infection-control protocols.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, minor office procedures, and other clinical duties within the scope of the role and applicable requirements.
  • Maintain patient privacy and comply with HIPAA and organizational confidentiality standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and appropriately stocked exam rooms and clinical work areas.
  • Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Provide professional and compassionate patient care while supporting a positive patient experience.
  • Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice.
  • Full-time, Monday-Friday schedule.

Requirements

 

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • At least one year of medical office experience preferred.
  • Urology experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Allscripts or another electronic health record (EHR) system preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Experience with KUB imaging is a plus, where applicable requirements are met.
