About the Role

3rd shift Production Supervisor

IMS Gear is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead 3rd shift manufacturing operations in our Gainesville, GA facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing employees, solving production challenges, and driving continuous improvement. This role oversees production performance, employee development, safety compliance, and quality initiatives.

What You'll Do

Lead Production Operations

  • Supervise daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and customer requirements
  • Coordinate staffing, equipment, materials, and workflow for maximum efficiency
  • Monitor key performance metrics including productivity, downtime, scrap, labor utilization, and quality
  • Troubleshoot production challenges and implement corrective actions
  • Partner with Quality, Maintenance, and other departments to support operational goals
  • Ensure production records, reports, and documentation are completed accurately

Develop and Lead Your Team

  • Coach, mentor, and develop production employees
  • Set performance expectations and hold team members accountable
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training activities
  • Conduct performance discussions and employee coaching
  • Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative work environment

Promote Safety & Quality

  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct safety meetings, audits, and investigations as needed
  • Drive quality standards and support compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 systems
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, defects, and downtime

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a high-volume production environment
  • Previous supervisor, team lead, or leadership experience
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or similar continuous improvement tools
  • Knowledge of OSHA, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze production data and make sound operational decisions
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems


Physical Requirements

  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing and pulling up to 250 lbs. using material handling equipment
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
