About the Role

Applications are invited for the position of full-time Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Geography and Resource Management at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Geography, Remote Sensing, GIS, Climate Change, Disaster Management, Environmental Science, or relevant fields; (ii) proficient experience in geospatial study, big data analysis, and computer programming (e.g., R, Python, Matlab, etc.); (iii) an excellent command of written and spoken English; and (iv) demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. Research experience in hydrometeorological extremes or big data analysis is preferred.

The appointee will be expected to conduct high-quality research on hydrometeorological extremes, urban flooding, rainstorms, heatwaves, or other relevant topics.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing October 2024, renewable subject to good performance.
