About the Role

Reports to: Operations Manager
Supervises: None
Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly


Purpose of Position:

The Operations Lead has primary responsibility for supporting the Operations Manager by overseeing daily production and warehouse activities at the Lebanon facility. This role works alongside team members while providing direction, ensuring efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead daily operations on the grading floor and in the warehouse to support smooth production flow.
  • Monitor progress, and provide hands-on support to team members.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of product in cooler and dry storage areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate staffing or operational needs to the Operations Manager.
  • Provide training to team members to promote development.
  • Uphold and reinforce Westfield Egg Farm’s mission, vision, and core values.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager.

Work Schedule:

  • Typical hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Two 10-minute paid breaks and a 1-hour unpaid lunch break.

Requirements

  • Completion of general safety and basic food safety training (provided by WEF).
  • Training in electric pallet jack and forklift operation (provided by WEF).
  • Steel-toed or composite toe shoes required (WEF provides a shoe compensation plan)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to read, speak, and write in English.
  • Ability to interpret and follow SOPs, policies, and written instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Complete support of and willing adherence to Westfield Egg Farm’s mission, vision, and core values. Applicant must hold these standards as his/her own.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of egg processing or food production operations.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand. The employee is required to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds daily. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, soaps and/or chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to cold, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
