About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Blanket Operator is responsible for cutting, sewing, inspecting, folding, packaging, and preparing blanket products for shipment. This position supports production quality, workflow efficiency, and adherence to safety and operational standards within a textile manufacturing environment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB 

  • Cut fabric and blanket materials to required specifications
  • Operate industrial sewing equipment to sew labels and binding onto products
  • Inspect blankets and finished products for quality, appearance, and accuracy
  • Fold, package, tag, and prepare products for shipment
  • Prepare and organize packaging materials and work areas
  • Record production counts and related production information accurately
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas
  • Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and operational standards
  • Support production flow and department efficiency
  • Cross-train in other production areas as needed to support operational needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Industrial sewing, textile manufacturing, or related production experience preferred 
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English 
  • Basic math and counting skills 
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and product quality 
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Communication and teamwork skills 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to adapt to changing production needs and priorities
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift, excluding scheduled breaks and meal periods
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling fabric, labels, thread, and packaging materials
  • Ability to operate industrial sewing equipment, including foot pedal operation
  • Frequent reaching, folding, grasping, twisting, and repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to safely handle fabrics, blankets, scissors, and packaging materials

Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Wages and annual increases are provided in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Shift differential on 2nd and 3rd shifts. Eligible employees receive ten (10) paid holidays, medical, dental, prescription drug coverage, short-term disability benefits, vision care reimbursement, shoe reimbursement, and a 401(k) retirement plan with Company matching contributions up to $750 annually, plus an annual employer fixed contribution of $1,300. Employees also begin accruing sick leave and vacation time starting on their first day of employment.
