About the Role

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Program Manager – Safety Improvement Program and based in our office in Fortitude Valley, this is a hands-on delivery role within our O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Safety Improvement Program. You’ll take fatal risk issues identified through audits, investigations and frontline insight, and turn them into scoped, funded, delivered projects, engineering fixes, operational changes and asset improvements that make our network safer for the people who work on it.

You’ll work closely with operational leaders, engineers, maintenance crews and subject matter experts, from problem identification through to solution design, stakeholder sign-off, delivery and handover into business-as-usual. This is a contract position until 30 June 2027.

What You’ll Deliver

  • Scope, plan and deliver safety improvement projects from concept to completion

  • Facilitate workshops to define problems and land on practical, sustainable solutions

  • Build business cases, schedules, cost estimates and delivery plans

  • Coordinate delivery through internal teams, contractors and technical experts

  • Track and report on project risk, cost, schedule and quality

  • Hand completed improvements over cleanly into ongoing maintenance and asset management.

About You

  • You will hold a tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, construction management, asset management, or equivalent experience

  • A track record delivering infrastructure, asset improvement or minor capital projects in a medium-to-large operational environment

  • Experience taking projects from concept through to implementation and handover

  • The ability to build trust and influence outcomes across engineering, operations and maintenance, without needing formal authority to do it

  • Strong reporting and communication skills, comfortable in front of governance forums

  • Experience in water, utilities, resources or other asset intensive industries; background delivering fatal risk, critical risk or compliance-driven safety projects; experience implementing engineered controls in high-risk operational settings is desirable however not essential.
