Job Description

Behind every great lounge experience is a strong kitchen team, and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Full‑Time Kitchen Hand to join our friendly and supportive team at the Qantas Lounges by Accor at Sydney Airport. This is a hands on role for someone who enjoys staying busy, working as part of a team, and taking pride in keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchens clean, organised, and service‑ready:
  • Washing dishes, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashing machines.
  • Cleaning and maintaining dishwashing equipment and reporting any issues.
  • Keeping kitchen, preparation and scullery areas clean and hygienic.
  • Ensuring correct handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks when required.
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods.
  • Working across a rotating roster, including, mornings, afternoons and weekend

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Preferred experience within the hospitality or hotel industry
  • Understanding of food safety requirements.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • MUST have flexibility to work various rostered shifts, including mornings, afternoon and weekends
  • MUST have full working rights within Australia

Skills:

  • Time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
  • Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various duties in the kitchen.
