KBF is currently seeking an entry-level Tax Associate to join our Lake Oswego, Irvine, or San Diego offices starting in August 2027.


The KBF Tax team provides a broad range of tax services to support clients with their federal, state, and international tax needs. This role provides the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across tax compliance, tax accounting, tax consulting, and tax planning while working closely with experienced professionals and a diverse range of clients. The team’s collaborative, fast-paced, and dynamic environment provides opportunities to develop strong technical and client service skills while maintaining a team-oriented culture.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of tax-related work products and calculations
  • Support tax compliance and consulting engagements in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist with day-to-day federal, state, and international tax matters that may arise
  • Research and stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, and the business environment
  • Proactively manage assignments and deadlines to ensure work is completed based on client and engagement expectations
  • Communicate openly with managers and team members regarding project status, timelines, questions, and issues
  • Develop an understanding of tax concepts, processes, and best practices through hands-on experience and exposure to client engagements

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited college/university; bachelor’s is required but master’s is preferred
  • Ability to work from KBF’s Lake Oswego, Irvine, or San Diego office a minimum of 2 days per week
  • Must be on track to graduate with an accounting focused bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (and have CPA eligibility) no earlier than December 2027 and no later than August 2028
  • Minimum 3.2 overall GPA preferred
  • Strong ambition to become a Certified Public Accountant and a desire to pursue a career in Tax
  • Motivated, quick learner with excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Eligible to work in the U.S

The salary range for this position reflects various factors that influence compensation decisions, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, licensure, geographic location, and other organizational requirements. At KBF Advisory, it is uncommon for a candidate to be hired at the high end of the salary range, as compensation is based on the unique qualifications and circumstances of each individual. The estimated current salary for this role is $72,000 to $90,000.
