About the Role

The InterContinental Adelaide Atrium Lounge offers a sophisticated and inviting space where guests can relax, connect, and indulge in expertly crafted beverages and refined all-day dining. We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Bar Supervisor to lead from the front — actively working behind the bar while guiding the team to deliver warm, seamless and elevated service.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for an experienced bartender ready to step up. You will be the lead bartender during service, driving drink quality, efficiency, stock management and cocktail training, while supporting the broader leadership team. This role is part time garunteed 24 hours minimum. 

Your Day-to-Day

  • Lead the bar during service, preparing and serving beverages to a premium 5-star standard.
  • Create a warm welcome for every guest and set the tone for a memorable experience.
  • Manage drink service flow, ensuring timely and seamless beverage delivery to guests.
  • Train and mentor team members in cocktail preparation, product knowledge and bar standards.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine and current promotions to drive sales through genuine hospitality.
  • Support stock control including ordering, stock counts, rotation and minimising waste.
  • Ensure bar presentation, cleanliness and organisation are maintained at all times.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions responsibly and accurately.
  • Work closely with restaurant, kitchen and leadership teams to ensure smooth service operations.
  • Assist with shift coordination and provide on-the-floor direction, without full supervisory administrative responsibility.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior bar or food & beverage role within a hotel, restaurant or premium bar environment.
  • Strong cocktail knowledge and technical bartending skills — you are confident as the lead bartender.
  • Experience training or mentoring team members in service or bar skills.
  • Sound understanding of stock control and inventory practices.
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (SA/Nationally Accredited) & Food Safety Certificate.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • A hands-on, team-focused leader who leads by example.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 23kg and perform manual handling tasks as required.
  • Unrestricted Australian working rights.
