FT Systems Administrator - Austin, Houston, & San Antonio

POSITION PURPOSE
The Systems Administrator supports the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of the Bank’s enterprise server, virtualization, storage, messaging, and cloud-connected infrastructure. This role performs day-to-day administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation, and project support while delivering responsive service to business users and technology partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Administer and support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, DFS, file and print services, and related enterprise services.
- Monitor server, virtualization, storage, backup, messaging, and infrastructure health; respond to alerts and restore service within established operational and escalation procedures.
- Perform routine account, group, permission, certificate, service, and system configuration tasks using approved change-management practices.
- Support Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online hybrid services, including mailbox-related administration and basic mail-flow troubleshooting.
- Administer and support VMware or comparable virtualization platforms, including virtual machines, templates, snapshots, resource allocation, and lifecycle maintenance.
- Support enterprise storage, backup, recovery, and retention technologies; validate backup completion and participate in restoration testing.
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance, operating-system and application patching, software and hardware upgrades, firmware updates, and vulnerability remediation.
- Use PowerShell and other approved tools to automate repeatable administration, reporting, validation, and remediation tasks.
- Troubleshoot incidents methodically, validate the root cause, document findings, and develop repeatable procedures that can be followed by other support personnel.
- Create and maintain accurate system documentation, diagrams, inventories, knowledge articles, standard operating procedures, and change records.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, testing, exercises, and recovery activities.
- Support security policies and controls, including endpoint protection, email and web filtering, vulnerability management, logging, access controls, and remediation tracking.
- Identify potential non-compliance or control gaps and promptly escalate findings through established Information Security and management channels.
- Coordinate with Network, Systems, Applications, Information Security, Service Desk, and vendor teams to resolve issues and deliver infrastructure projects.
- Provide professional support to internal users by phone, remote-support tools, and in person, with clear communication and strong customer-service practices.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and perform approved after-hours maintenance or incident response as required.
- Occasional travel and physical installation of server or infrastructure equipment may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Systems Administrator is responsible for the operational support of assigned servers, virtual infrastructure, storage, backups, messaging components, and associated technologies across production and alternate processing locations. The position works within established standards, escalates complex design or engineering issues, and contributes to cross-training and continuous service improvement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This role does not have supervisory duties
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical education and relevant experience.
Microsoft, VMware, Citrix, cloud, or security certification is preferred.
Experience in banking, financial services, or another heavily regulated industry is preferred.
Experience required:
3+ years of enterprise Windows Server and systems administration experience.
3+ years supporting Active Directory and core Microsoft infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, DFS, and file services.
2+ years supporting server virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or equivalent.
2+ years supporting enterprise backup, recovery, monitoring, patching, and endpoint management technologies.
1+ year supporting Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft 365, or hybrid messaging services.
Experience using PowerShell for routine administration and basic automation.
Experience documenting system configurations, changes, troubleshooting steps, and support procedures.
preferred EXPERIENCE:
Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, or comparable application and desktop delivery platforms.
Enterprise SAN/NAS technologies, including platforms comparable to Pure.
Microsoft SQL Server administration at a basic operational support level.
Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, or another enterprise cloud platform.
Linux administration and support.
CommVault, BMC products, Citrix Administration are highly desirable.
Load balancers, certificate management, spam filtering, web filtering, SIEM, vulnerability scanning, and server automation tools.
Disaster recovery, business continuity, regulatory examination support, and remediation tracking.
Previous banking experience desired.
