About the Team

We conduct airborne missions for the Australian Government across maritime surveillance and search and rescue operations. With bases strategically positioned across Australia, we operate a fully integrated in-house aviation capability which includes flight operations, maintenance organisation, training organisation and operations centre.

The Opportunity

This role is an opportunity to contribute to our Airborne Solutions operation by delivering technical engineering support across our aircraft fleet. You will work with engineers, maintenance providers and operational stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, improve system reliability and support the delivery of critical airborne mission capabilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide technical engineering support for aircraft mission systems, including troubleshooting, defect management and maintenance oversight.

  • Develop engineering orders, technical documentation, test procedures and process guidance to support safe and compliant operations.

  • Investigate system reliability issues and recommend solutions to improve fleet performance and capability.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, maintenance providers and suppliers to support airworthiness, configuration control and effective parts management.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters.

Essential for this role:

  • Relevant CASA (B2 AME/LAME), tertiary, or equivalent engineering degree qualifications, or

  • Experience in maintenance or technical support of mission system components, aircraft satellite communications and network routing equipment, or

  • Experience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, service, repair and technical support of aircraft avionics systems.

  • Systematic approach to problem solving.

Advantageous, but not essential:

  • Computer based design and drafting abilities

  • CISCO network experience

  • DBMS database management experience

  • Experience with maritime patrol/ including SAR operations.

  • Experience with CASA Part 21M/J

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian citizen and hold, or be eligible to obtain, Baseline security clearance.

Applicants may also need to meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements. In certain circumstances this can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1.
