So, what does a typical day look like? What does it take to succeed?

-          Serves as a working leader responsible for leading a minimum of three associates in the accomplishment of food preparation and serving activities for a location or area.

-          Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition adhering to all sanitary rules and regulations. Keeps counter and other equipment and appliances clean and sanitary.

-          Participates in the training of new associates and answers their questions on procedures and other pertinent aspects of food service operations.

-          Performs the same work as associates which consists of preparing/cooking/serving food in a cafeteria setting, operating a cash register, and interacting with customers.

-          Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who makes assignments and provides instructions and assistance.

The Qualifiers:

·         18 months of experience performing various tasks involving the preparation and serving of food.

·         Must pass an employment criminal background check.

·         Must be a U.S. Citizen

·         Frequently lifts or moves objects up to 45 pounds. Is required to stand constantly and walk in accomplishment of duties.

Eighteen months’ experience performing cafeteria or counter-type food service duties such as preparing fruit/vegetable salads, making simple sandwiches, and coffee in large urns, setting up food service counters, steam tables, etc.. Receiving customer orders and serving customers. Operating a cash register and computing change. Performing cleaning duties such as scraping, staking, and preparing dishes for the dishwasher and keeping counters, steam table, and other equipment/appliances clean etc.. Or similar work that provided the knowledge and skills to perform the duties of the position.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.

 PHYSICAL EFFORT: Lifting or moving carts of dirty dishes weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally up to 45 pounds. Constant standing and walking to accomplishing duties.

**Candidates must be eligible for and obtain a Secret Clearance within 6 months of appointment. Failure to obtain will result in termination. Acceptable results of a Tier 3 eAPP security background screening is required and is a condition of employment.
