About the Role

Physician Practice Enhancement is seeking an experienced Family Medicine Physician for a Medical Director position in beautiful Williamsport, PA.

This office is open only to the County workers of Lycoming County and their families.

Our offices offer onsite Family medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, X-Ray, and Behavioral Health.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Family Medicine Physician to join our established outpatient practice. The physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centered primary care to individuals and families across the lifespan. This role focuses exclusively on outpatient care in a collaborative, team-based environment with an emphasis on quality, continuity, and preventive medicine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients ages 2 and above in an outpatient setting
  • Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform routine physical exams, preventive screenings, and wellness visits
  • Develop and manage treatment plans, including medication management and follow-up care
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and lifestyle modification
  • Coordinate care with specialists, hospitals, and ancillary services as needed
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical best practices
  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and support staff to deliver high-quality care

Scope of Practice

  • Outpatient-only practice
  • No inpatient rounding
  • Typical patient panel includes adults and children 2 and above
  • Procedures may include 
    • Annual physicals and wellness exams
    • Chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, asthma)
    • Minor in-office procedures (e.g., joint injections, skin biopsies, wound care)
    • Preventive care, immunizations, and health screenings

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time
  • Shift 4 – 10 hour shifts during the week 8am-6pm
  • Outpatient clinic setting with dedicated clinical and administrative support

Qualifications

Required:

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
  • Active Pennsylvania state medical license
  • DEA registration (or eligibility)

Preferred:

  • Prior outpatient primary care experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care
  • Experience with EMR systems
