About the Role

OPEN AVAILABILITY PREFERRED

REGULAR HOURS:  0 - 40 HOURS PER WEEK

SEASONAL PERIOD:  NOVEMBER 2026 - JANUARY 2027

Job Summary: 

Performs a variety of tasks in connection with the sales of seasonal merchandise i.e. Christmas trees tree stands wreaths ornaments etc. by ensuring displays are maintained and tends to Christmas trees to ensure proper care of the merchandise. Assists with loading purchased merchandise into customer s vehicle s as needed. 

Duties and Responsibilities: Performs one or a combination of the following

  • Attends to Christmas tress displayed in designated area of NEX parking lot. Ensures trees are secure and safely positioned for customers to view and choose a tree of their liking.
  • May assist customer s by shaking purchased tree s to remove dead needles from the tree for the customer.
  • Utilizes a powered chainsaw to recut 1 2 inch or more off the butt end of the purchased tree which helps to prolong the life and condition of the tree by enabling it to absorb water maintained in the tree stand.
  • Wraps tree with twine to secure the branches and form of the tree. Assists customers with loading purchased trees into or onto their vehicle by ensuring the tree is securely tied to the vehicle properly.
  • Lifts and carries patron s purchases including but not limited to trees tree stand wreaths other general merchandise etc. from the Christmas tree staging area the customer s vehicle.
  • May use hand truck or dolly if necessary to move merchandise from one location to another.
  • Maintains working areas in a clean and orderly condition picks up debris and trash from grounds. Picks up empty boxes containers from work areas using hand cart and moves to assigned area for disposal. Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor who provides general instructions for routine duties. Supervisor provides direct supervision and or specific instructions for special and or new assignments and gives specific time frames for completion. Work is checked on a random basis for timeliness and compliance with instructions. 

PHYSICAL EFFORT Is frequently required to lift and carry weights up to 45 pounds performs duties standing and walking for long periods of time. Is required to use a chainsaw in connection with job duties. 

WORKING CONDITIONS Works predominantly outside is exposed to elements of the weather conditions. Is subject to bruises cuts scratches prickling of skin etc. from handling tress and or wreaths. 

TRAINING REQUIREMENT Associate must receive hazardous material HazMat training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.



Twelve months experience performing manual labor tasks such as holiday season tree wreath and ornament handling and cutting moving supplies and materials by hand cart stacking materials for storage collecting refuse and salvageable material etc. 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for 12 months of experience 

Physical requirements Lifting and carrying weights up to 45 pounds performs duties standing and walking for long periods of time. Is required to use a chainsaw in connection with job duties.
