About The Company
Our priority is to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective water and wastewater treatment solutions through our Water-as-a-Service® approach. We form long-lasting partnerships with our customers for a sustainable future by addressing water management challenges through our engineering experience, operational excellence, and financial resources. We design, build, acquire, refurbish, and operate our plants to perform at maximum efficiency, guaranteeing price, water quality and quantity.
About the Role

Description

Seven Seas Water Group is looking for an Assistant General Counsel to support the legal needs of the enterprise, reporting to the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer. You'll get real breadth across corporate governance, commercial contracting, procurement, compliance, and claims for a growing multinational infrastructure platform, direct access to leadership in every function, and genuine mentorship from senior legal leadership as you grow.

Who we are

Seven Seas Water Group (SSWG) operates two businesses within the water infrastructure space, delivering more than 20 billion gallons of water a year to customers. SSWG provides water treatment and desalination for governmental, hospitality and industrial customers in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the AUC Group provides decentralized water and wastewater treatment plants for industrial and municipal customers in the United States. Through our Water-as-a-Service® (WaaS®) model, we design, build, own, and operate more than 200 water and wastewater treatment plants, taking on the capital and operational risk so our customers don't have to. SSWG is a portfolio company of EQT, a global investment firm with more than three decades of experience building essential infrastructure.

What you'll own

You'll handle day-to-day corporate governance across our multi-entity structure, and you'll draft, review, and negotiate the commercial agreements that keep the business running, including vendor and supplier contracts, services agreements, licenses, and NDAs. You'll partner with procurement on third-party relationships from sourcing through renewal, and you'll help review and refine the customer-facing documents, forms, letters, and disclosures we rely on.

On the advisory side, you'll counsel executives across the business on strategic planning, regulatory affairs, employment questions, company policy, and the protection of our intellectual property, and you'll own our approach to privacy and data protection compliance. When claims and disputes come up, you'll manage them alongside outside counsel where the matter calls for it. Throughout, the job is to spot issues early, bring the right business partners in, and deliver a practical answer rather than a memo.

Requirements

What you bring

• A JD from an accredited law school, licensed and in good standing in Florida or otherwise eligible under Florida's in-house counsel registration rules

• Located in Tampa, Florida

• 7 to 9 years of legal experience, in-house or at a firm, with a focus on commercial contracting, corporate governance, compliance, or a combination of the three

• Strong business judgment, and a track record of partnering with stakeholders to reach a workable answer rather than a theoretical one

• Strong plain-English communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at every level of the organization

• Comfort carrying a high volume of matters and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment where timely, high-quality work is expected

• Sound judgment about what you can decide on your own and what should be escalated

• Must complete a conflict-of-interest clearance review before starting

• Written and spoken Spanish is a plus, not a requirement

Why this role

You'll work directly with our CLCO across the full range of what an in-house legal department does, with the kind of breadth and executive exposure that is hard to find this early in-house. It's a chance to build real generalist depth at a growing infrastructure business where the legal work is genuinely varied and the decisions carry weight.

Equal opportunity

We are an equal opportunity employer and place a high value on diversity and inclusion at our company.
