About the Role

Description

About Junes All Day Cafe

Straight from the sunny corner of South Congress in Austin, Junes All Day Cafe is expanding to Dallas! June's is a neighborhood hub with a serious culinary backbone and a legendary beverage program. Inspired by European cafes and classic American diners, we offer an effortless, high-energy experience from the first pour of morning espresso to the final late-night glass of natural wine.

We are building our Dallas Opening Team, and we're looking for a dynamic, hands-on, and resilient Assistant General Manager to help us introduce June's signature hospitality to the city.

The Role: What You’ll Do

Launching a new restaurant requires grit, absolute clarity under pressure, and a passion for building culture from the ground up. As the AGM, you will partner closely with the General Manager and MML corporate leadership to train the FOH team, set operational standards, and ensure our opening is the talk of the town.

Key Opening & Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Launch Leadership: Play a critical role in pre-opening logistics, including onboarding, initial FOH training, layout organization, and systems setup.

  • Floor General: Lead by example on the floor during high-volume opening weeks, ensuring seamless service, touch-table hospitality, and quick problem-solving as the neighborhood gets to know us.

  • The "All-Day" Pivot: Master and manage the physical and energetic transition from a bustling morning brunch crowd to a vibrant, wine-forward dinner and late-night lounge scene.

  • Team Building: Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse FOH team (baristas, servers, hosts, and bartenders), fostering a positive, professional, and zero-drama workplace culture.

  • Financial & Operational Execution: Drive financial success through sharp labor cost optimization, precise inventory management (beverage, paper goods), and strict adherence to MML operational standards.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned floor manager who thrives on establishing a new opening team and knows how to build a loyal local guest base.

  • Experienced: You have 2+ years of management experience in a high-volume restaurant, upscale boutique hotel, or premium cafe. Opening experience is a huge plus.

  • Connected to Dallas: You know the local market, understand the expectations of Dallas diners, and love the fast-paced local dining scene.

  • Beverage Literate: A solid understanding of premium coffee/espresso programs and a deep appreciation for wine (especially natural/unconventional selections) and craft cocktails.

  • Systems Thinker: Proficient with modern restaurant tech ecosystems (e.g., Toast POS, Resy, 7shifts/Sling, and inventory software).

  • Natural Motivator: You give clear, constructive feedback and lead your team with empathy, keeping morale high during demanding shifts.

What’s in it for You?

  • Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus potential

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)

  • Generous dining discounts across the MML Hospitality portfolio

  • The prestige and growth potential of leading a high-profile Dallas opening
