Position Summary

The Production Coordinator II coordinates daily production activities across departments, ensuring jobs stay on schedule and issues are resolved proactively. This role requires solid working knowledge of production systems and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

· Coordinate daily production activities to ensure jobs progress on schedule

· Track work orders, job status, and production priorities across departments

· Communicate updates, delays, or priority changes between Production, Scheduling, Purchasing, and Quality

· Monitor material availability and coordinate with Purchasing to resolve shortages or delays

· Maintain accurate production data in scheduling systems

· Support the Scheduler in adjusting production plans based on capacity, staffing, or equipment changes

· Coordinate with Quality to ensure inspection holds, non-conformances, or rework are tracked and resolved

· Coordinate outside processing (e.g., galvanizing, coating, third-party inspection)

· Prepare production status reports and metrics for management review

· Help resolve day-to-day production issues by connecting the right people and information

· Support new job kickoffs by ensuring all required documentation and materials are in place

· Assist with shipping coordination to confirm completed jobs are ready for delivery

· Perform other production support duties as assigned

Qualifications

· High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher in business, operations, or related field preferred

· 4 or more years of experience in production, manufacturing, or a coordination/administrative role

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook); experience with ERP/MRP systems required

· Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively across departments

· Ability to read basic production documents, work orders, and job travelers

  

· Must be able to read, write, and understand English required.

· Understanding of safety practices in an industrial setting

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Physical Requirements

· Must be able to stand for prolonged periods (8+ hours)

· Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. independently

· Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and manual handling of materials required

· Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity

· Ability to tolerate noise, heat, and dust in a manufacturing environment

· Visual acuity to read measuring tools, drawings, and detect quality defects

· Must pass initial and ongoing physical or occupational health screenings (e.g., lifting assessment, vision test, hearing test, etc.)

· Must be able to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection

Work Environment

Manufacturing floor with exposure to moving mechanical parts, sharp materials, and moderate to loud noise. May be exposed to hot or cold environments depending on season. Work schedule may include overtime or weekend shifts as needed.
