Job Description
Job Overview The Sr. Manager is the overall owner of a client procurement program, responsible for delivery performance, client alignment, operational governance, and continuous improvement. The role leads day-to-day operations, manages client relationships, supports process changes, resolves escalations, and ensures procurement services are delivered in line with contractual expectations. The Sr. Manager applies procurement expertise, best practices, and sound judgment to solve client issues, roll out new initiatives, support documentation and training, and drive change management. Key Responsibilities / Job Duties: Delivery Management: Lead procurement delivery, ensure contract compliance, manage project queues, and oversee program metrics. Partner with Team Leads to assign work, resolve operational issues, improve processes, and develop templates/job aids. Support rollout of procurement programs, change management, communication plans, and business process improvements. Team Management: Provide leadership to the delivery team across process, quality, performance, training, and capacity planning. Share input with management on team performance, recognition, and capability needs. Client and Program Management: Lead client operations discussions, strategic projects, and high-visibility procurement initiatives. Drive process improvements and ensure client-specific processes, exceptions, and knowledge assets are documented. Procurement Functional/Technical Skills: Strong consultative knowledge of procurement, Source-to-Manage, sourcing methodology, RFX, eSourcing, change management, and communications. Ability to master client processes, systems, terminology, and requirements, and apply procurement best practices to sourcing activities. Ability to analyze data, recommend solutions, and implement consistent processes across programs. Business Fundamentals: Excellent written/verbal communication, project management, problem-solving, multitasking, and stakeholder management skills. Strong team leadership, business acumen, and program-level P&L understanding. Client Service Capabilities: Strong customer service orientation, issue resolution, relationship management, and decision-making in sensitive client situations. Ability to quickly learn client-specific environments and support effective service delivery.
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience: Master’s Degree in business or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience). Professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain from ISM, APICS, etc. preferred. 14+ years of work experience in operational, program management, and consulting capacity. Prior management experience of up to 10+ people on a project level. 5+ years’ experience in procurement process.
