About The Company
Bergen Community College’s STEM Research Center is the central hub of our STEM Program, featuring top of the line research equipment and facilities. The STEM Research Center enables students to build skills and a community through our research program, workshops and STEM events. Each year BCC students have overwhelming success in our STEM Student Scholars (3SP) Research Program, utilizing the STEM Research Center to conduct faculty mentored research projects which benefit our society. Our research projects range from initiatives to develop a biomimetic prosthetic arm using affordable materials to our hydroponics experiential research designed to empower students of the benefits of locally grown, pesticide-free food in urban and suburban settings. About the Role

The Program Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and administration of assigned programs within the Division of Continuing Education and Workforce Development. Responsibilities include program development and planning, staffing, scheduling, marketing and promotional activities, instructional quality, student relations, and ongoing program oversight. The Program Supervisor monitors program operations and outcomes to ensure high-quality instruction, effective delivery, and alignment with divisional goals and standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Manage all aspects of program development, including budget, staff, instructional quality, and student relations.

  • Identify, develop, and implement industry-recognized credential and certification programs.

  • Develop and distribute marketing materials for programs.

  • Prepare schedules for courses, workshops, and seminars.

  • Assist with the assessment of community needs and make recommendations for educational and learning programs, including Kids and Teens programming.

  • Identify, recommend, and supervise instructional staff.

  • Prepare, distribute, collect, and assess course evaluations and learning outcomes

  • Prepare, track, and monitor the annual budget.

  • Perform additional tasks or duties as assigned.


SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 

Education: Associate degree required; BA/BS degree preferred. 

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in program development and coordination of non-credit courses, including workforce training and/or Kids and Teens programming. Prefer supervisory experience and background in working with community organizations and outreach programs. Business experience preferred but not required.

Other: Must possess a valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle to travel between various college sites and off-campus locations. Able to lift at least 20lb. cartons (books, laptops, supplies).


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES


  • Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission and practices an open-door policy.

  • Strong knowledge essential in pedagogy and assessment needed to drive goal development and implementation related to student success.

  • Experience in K-12 educational programs in a community college environment is desirable. Background in Adult, Continuing, or Community Education preferred.

  • Working proficiency in various CRM software products, reporting tools, and web-based marketing.

  • Technology skills are essential, with proficiency required in the use of the Microsoft Office, Google Workplace, and online learning management systems.

  • Ability to collaborate with community and college partners.

  • Solid financial ability needed to manage the budget and grant responsibilities.

  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with ability to work independently and as a team. Must be able to work with a diverse, multi-generational population.

  • Must be competent in the areas outlined in the major responsibilities noted above.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • Annual Salary is $50,000-$60,000
  • NJ Educator's Health Plan with Free Dental and Vision. 
  • NJ State Pension Plan. 
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • 15 vacation days, 15 sick days, 4 personal days, 2 floating holidays, 3 Partial Sick Days, all designated holidays and 5 non-designated holidays a year.
