About the Role

A leading provider of diagnostic imaging services, Insight Medical Imaging connects in a meaningful way with our patients, physicians, and employees. With over 650 employees and 20 locations, Insight provides services in Edmonton and surrounding regions, as well as in Fort McMurray. 


Insight is currently seeking an X Ray SupervisorThis is a permanent, full-time 1.0 FTE position, with rotation across 16 clinics in Edmonton and the surrounding area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical X-ray duties while balancing supervisory responsibilities.
  • Identify and implement approved efficiencies, innovations, and workflow standardization across X-ray services.
  • Monitor compliance with accreditation, diagnostic imaging, licensing, certification, and departmental standards; escalate gaps as appropriate.
  • Support staffing needs, including scheduling, vacation coverage, recruitment, interviews, technical assessments, and hiring recommendations.
  • Lead onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing support for new employees and students.
  • Provide technical expertise, coaching, competency assessments, and performance feedback; identify knowledge or performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and document clinical competency assessments, probationary reviews, annual appraisals, and performance management support.
  • Review X-ray reject analysis, monitor trends, provide coaching, and escalate recurring or significant concerns.
  • Test, validate, and sign off technologists on medication preparation, as required.
  • Monitor employee credentials and certifications and follow up on required updates.
  • Support policy and procedure development, updates, and implementation.
  • Approve timecards as assigned and document employee concerns for performance management.
  • Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned

  • Comprehensive clinical expertise in X-ray procedures, exam protocols, technical parameters, and image requirements. 
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to identify and recommend workflow, efficiency, and resource-allocation improvements. 
  • Proficient computer skills, including specialized clinical software and scheduling systems. 
  • Strong organizational skills and knowledge of operational procedures and protocols. 
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and staff development abilities. 
  • Ability to remain effective and composed in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Professional approach to managing challenging situations and collaborating with staff, leadership, and stakeholders. 
  • Commitment to patient care, quality assurance, and diagnostic imaging standards.


Qualifications:

  • MRT(R)/CLXT designation in good standing with ACMDTT or ACCLXT
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of X-Ray experience preferred
  • Previous leadership experience is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience and competence in performing all required examination procedures
  • Medication Preparation certification required
