As part of the Litigation and Investigation Asia team you will enjoy a wide spectrum of litigation and investigation work across different regions in an in-house legal environment. A trainee contract to qualify as a Hong Kong solicitor may be offered to the right candidate.

YOUR CHALLENGE
Provide general support to the Litigation and Investigation, Asia team working closely with other legal, risk and compliance colleagues in Hong Kong, Singapore and Zurich
Assisting on commercial litigation (including pre-litigation matters), investigation cases in Hong Kong and Singapore, including preparing investigation report, documents collection and liaising with internal stakeholders
Assisting with preparation for and participation in steering committee meetings, management meetings and internal investigation interviews
Conducting legal research and other company or legal searches
Co-ordinating with outside counsel, third party service providers, internal stakeholders and other 3rd parties (including complainants and/or their solicitors) on issues arising from investigations, litigation, Court orders requests received by the Bank from time to time
Assisting in internal legal updates and maintenance of internal databases relating to litigation and investigations in Asia
Assisting on general advisory work relating to the private banking business (including queries HR related enquiries and personal data enquiries/requests)
Documents filings, billing and knowhow management

Personal and Social:
Flair for managing interpersonal relationships

Ability to manage peer relationships and different senior executive work style
Professional and Technical:
A Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Master of Laws (LLM) or Juris Doctor (JD) in a common law jurisdiction (Hong Kong, UK, Australia) obtained from a reputable university and with good academic result
Strong command of spoken/written English and Chinese (including Mandarin) is essential
Ability to work independently and detail oriented
Excellent analytical, communication and problem solving skills
Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task, and capable of working under time pressure
Prior experience in law firm or legal department (preferably in banks) is an advantage
Good knowledge in e-Discovery platforms used for document review (for example Relativity) would be beneficial
