About the Role

Description

Watchpoint Logistics Class C Truck Drivers work collaboratively as part of the Cartage team and have a direct impact on the overall success of Watchpoint. They are responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles while working with our clients to facilitate pick-ups, deliveries, as well as processing customer shipments.

The starting pay for this position is expected to be $26.00 to $28.00 per hour. Exact compensation is based on skills, experience, education, and location.


Required Shift: Monday - Friday 12:00pm - 8:30pm.


Class C Driver Job Duties

  • Safely operate company vehicles up to 26’ with a lift-gate
  • Interact face to face with our clients and provide a positive customer experience
  • Carefully load and unload shipments at customer and vendor locations
  • Verify shipments with customers for accuracy and obtain proper documentation
  • Process appropriate paperwork for shipping, delivery, and receipt of customer merchandise 
  • Report and escalate any discrepancies at pickup or delivery
  • Utilize handheld device for routing and obtaining customer information 
  • Be an ambassador of excellent customer service to all Watchpoint Logistics customers 
  • Perform routine daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is cleared for road safety
  • Perform warehouse operational duties as required 
  • Various other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A valid, continuously held driver’s license for the past three years, and clean DMV record that is acceptable by Company insurance (this includes; no more than one at fault accident or major violation in the past 36 months and no more than 2 minor violations in the past 12 months)
  • Must be at least 25 years of age (to meet insurance requirements)
  • Be able satisfy a U.S. TSA/STA background check
  • Experience operating a straight truck, lift gate, pallet jack, and hand cart to transport goods
  • Basic use of computer systems and applications (TMS) as trained/required.  
  • Shows up on time, follows instructions, acknowledges and corrects mistakes.
  • Meets the needs of customers through positive interactions.
  • Able to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to achieve common goals.
  • Able to receive work instruction in both written and oral formats. Written and verbal communication is completed in a clear and organized manner.
  • Seeks and incorporates feedback. Uses good judgment and solves problems within assigned scope of responsibility.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and efficiency; is detail oriented and conducts work with minimal errors. Meets productivity goals set by management.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent and minimum 3 years of experience as a pick-up and delivery driver 

Physical Requirements

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s essential functions require the following physical demands: carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, crouching, significant finger dexterity, and some climbing. Must be able to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. The job is performed in a warehouse setting with temperature variations and requires the use of safety shoes and high visibility clothing.
