About the Role

Description

Position Summary:

To insure all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. In conjunction with Transportation and Operations, to develop effective inbound and outbound freight schedules according to policy.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Schedule inbound and outbound appointments.  
  • Obtain signatures from drivers as required on Inbound and outbound transactions.
  • Coordinate paperwork between office, warehouse, and drivers on inbound and outbound transactions per warehouse training guide procedures.
  • Daily telephoning of outside carriers to arrange for pickup of orders; telephoning of drayage companies to arrange pickup of empty containers per operations instructions.
  • Maintenance of Container log and Rail log.
  • Verification of completion and accuracy of all paperwork involved prior to forwarding to the office. 
  • Assignation of Relocation Sheets to the warehouse, of Manual Tally when no pre-receiver is available and of OS & D forms to the warehouse.
  • Key pallet exchange information from Pallet Slips into the system and maintain pallet slip files and shipping information on UPS orders into the Clippership program for transmission and billing.
  • Print trucking manifest for WTW, WDW, and NWF and match to actual orders.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Entry-level clerical position

Language Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills required. 
  • Able to work effectively with a wide range of personnel. 

Mathematical Skills:

High School equivalent. Strong mathematical knowledge required.


Reasoning Abilities:

Good analytical skills, as well as, independent thinking/reasoning ability. 


Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

FORKLIFT certification desired.


Other Skills and Abilities:

Proficiency in computer skills; general knowledge of Word, Excel and database systems.

Computer use requires good vision and ability to use keyboard. Ability to manipulate data on computer screen. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Regular use of hands, fingers and eyes required. Ability to communicate effectively required. Some travel maybe required.

A general warehouse/distribution environment with moderate power lifts equipment operations. The office environment is professional. Noise level quiet to moderate. Exposure to office machines, phones, faxes, computers and copiers.
