Table Games Floor Lead (Dual Rate)
JOB SUMMARY: As a dealer, conducts and provides game protection on their assigned game according to the Casino and Departmental Policies and Procedures. Ensures the proper amounts of chips are issued during a buy-in from a guest and that proper payoffs are made. As a Floor Lead, Lead is responsible for providing and promoting superior guest service, for the oversight of gaming operations, and personnel in assigned area to ensure integrity, guest satisfaction and compliance with established policies and procedures as well as federal cash reporting requirements. Will be knowledgeable of all aspects of games supervised and will protect casino assets by circulating and monitoring gaming operations and personnel in assigned area.
SUPERVISION EXCERCISED: Table Games Dealer.
LICENSE REQUIRED: Must obtain and hold a Class III gaming license while employed and complete an annual background check with TGA.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION: High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Minimum of two years experience as a Table Games dealer with knowledge, or the ability to obtain knowledge, of at least (3) core games and demonstrate ability to deal each game required (Core games are Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow Poker or Ultimate Texas Hold ‘em). Knowledge and dealing experience in all games strongly preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS: Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must have manual and finger dexterity for operation of computer, equipment and necessary paperwork relevant to pit operations. The position requires that all duties relevant to the position be performed in a tobacco smoke filled environment for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
SPECIFIC SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR POSITION: Must possess knowledge of Minimum Internal Controls, rules of play for each game, company established policies and procedures and the ability to read, analyze and interpret documents pertaining to rules, regulations and policies. Must have excellent math skills as well as excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to adjust to, and focus on, any situation to render a quick, fair and methodical decision. Must be familiar with Patron Management programs as well as Microsoft Windows programs. Willing to exhibit a strong motivational commitment to the organization by demonstrating the ability to enhance self-development and be able to positively adapt to change. Must possess leadership qualities as well as have excellent guest relations skills upon which to build. Must be flexible with schedule, able to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
SPECIFIC DUTIES PERFORMED: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. - Ensure and maintain compliance with all ordinances, laws and other communicated expectations including but not limited to: NIGC Regulations, Yakama Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Tribal Internal Controls and other communications from regulatory personnel.
- Conducts the assigned game according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Handles guest transactions for buy-ins and payoffs.
- Verifies fills and credits to game.
- As a dealer, notifies Floor Lead of any irregularities noted in guest play and of other transactions during shift.
- Remains aware of guests time on table and finds ways to manage as many guests or situations as possible.
- Oversee the operation of an assigned area.
- Ensure and maintain compliance with all workplace policies, procedures, ordinances, laws and other communicated expectations including but not limited to: Team Member Handbook, N.I.G.C. Regulations, Yakama Gaming Ordinance, State Gaming Compact, Minimum Internal Controls, Departmental Procedures, memos and other communications from supervisory or regulatory personnel.
- Opens and Closes games in assigned pit.
- Performs and understands pit accounting procedures and administrative tasks. (Fills, Credits, Monetary Transactions, Shift Change, Table Win/Loss, Theoretical Win calculations, Hold Percentage calculations)
- Responsible for safeguarding all casino assets in assigned area. (Includes but not limited to equipment, cards, and dice)
- Communicates all necessary Title 31 documentation generated, during a shift, to the Pit Supervisor.
- Provide and promote exceptional guest service by
- interconnecting with players and dealers,
- dealing effectively with guest problems, complaints and disputes, while courteously answering questions and inquiries from guests,
- maintaining awareness of promotions and special events and communicating this information to team members and guests,
- being able to explain and interpret rules of games and betting limits to guests,
- Encouraging rated play and tracking players by accurately inputting buy-ins, length of play, win/loss and average bet.
- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) with peers, subordinates, surveillance, security and guests. Encourage mutual respect, dignity and integrity when communicating by setting a positive example at all times.
- Train, mentor and motivate all Legends team members to ensure outstanding performance related to game protection, service standards and future growth.
- Counsels and works with dealers on procedural problems to maintain the integrity of the game and offers praise when appropriate.
- Evaluate subordinates and complete performance appraisals as directed to by Pit Supervisor/Table Games Management.
- Constant awareness of environment and surroundings while maintaining proper housekeeping of assigned area. (Keeping tables, floors and podiums free from debris)
- Organize, plan and prioritize by developing specific goals and accomplishing tasks.
- Builds relationships inside and outside of their department / team to improve ways of working and provide a great guest experience.
- Models for the team, a strong work ethic and is visible, available and present for the guest and their team.
- Identifies ways to improve workflows and processes to work smarter and increase efficiency.
